Virgin Media Issues Reports Near Stafford, England

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Stafford and nearby locations:

  • 5tu1987 Stuart Hurcombe (@5tu1987) reported from Armitage with Handsacre, England

@Gemgwar @virginmedia Basically.. nobody knows what the process is! Told we had to wait in ALL DAY yesterday for nobody to come (when we apparently now it’s only a package being delivered) STILL! nobody is clear if it’s a package being delivered or an engineer. Shocking service for what we are paying!

  • ObsessiveJohn John Sanders  (@ObsessiveJohn) reported from Wheaton Aston, England

@Appolotech @virginmedia I’ve had really intermittent quality of service with the Virgin BB. Switching to SKY end of month.

  • Gemgwar Gemma Brayne (@Gemgwar) reported from Stafford, England

@virginmedia Yes. They have said we will have to wait until WEDNESDAY, so we were lied to again. Shocking service!

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @kinoshitajona @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Scott, we use the term "unbreakable" in the trade to imply the credentials cannot be broken in a timeframe which realistically presents a risk to the user... it's not an OED term. Sure, if we're talking to an end-user, you either use a different term or explain the meaning

  • photo_bloke Mike Hillman (@photo_bloke) reported from Stafford, England

And now @AmazonUK have managed to join @virginmedia on the list of companies who've managed to p**s me off today with poor service They all seem to forget who pays their bills....

  • khnatter Kate (@khnatter) reported from Newport, England

@virginmedia Trouble is as I explained, it’s rented accommodation and the rental company have the login and password info and are closed all weekend. Making studying impossible 😠

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong No, bash both :) As I said, it's a poor policy by comparison but I'd rather advise the user on how to choose a secure 10 character password than waste time preaching security to a social media staffer :)

  • SketchXZ SketchXZ (@SketchXZ) reported from Burntwood, England

Sorry stream was cut short @virginmedia decided it was gna go down 🖕 #twitch #internetproblems

  • photo_bloke Mike Hillman (@photo_bloke) reported from Stafford, England

@virginmedia (3/3) I trust that when I call to cancel and switch, the call will be straightforward with no fuss and will be less than 2 minutes with no drawn out attempts to get me to stay

  • jcanlas159 j (@jcanlas159) reported from Stafford, England

@virginmedia No difference. We do have an engineer booked in but just trying to understand the issue. The router page shows the Broadband reading (Access Denied) errors

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong I didn't say it was perfectly fine... but it's certainly possible to pick a secure 10 character PW within those constraints. I was a VM customer for 2 decades... I can't recall ever losing sleep over this.

  • Gemgwar Gemma Brayne (@Gemgwar) reported from Armitage with Handsacre, England

@virginmedia really not impressed with your service. No idea what is going on and when I’m actually getting my broadband. Your team just keep lying to me and it’s frustrating!!

  • Tedtalks13 Teds (@Tedtalks13) reported from Brownhills, England

YOUR softwares and products were back footed to defraud me hooked in on bill bob gates gap in his programme "and community of python con men" which the camera ip picks it all up bilateral to the fraud hooking in on virgin media @richardbranson best sort your shit out

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong The irony here is 3 random words can be broken in as little as 40 seconds, maximum 50 minutes. A 10 character random password, by comparison, would take 7 weeks with the same hardware.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Because "secure" requires a context which neither the OP nor yourself have given. 99% of my passwords are 12 chars, A-Z, a-z, 0-9. They're not being broken in my lifetime... so to claim 10 is sufficient to justify leaving is daft.

  • ObsessiveJohn John Sanders  (@ObsessiveJohn) reported from Shifnal, England

@virginmedia Unreliable & intermittent Broadband, no Sky Atlantic but most importantly very poor customer service as justified by this thread - I’d rather rather speak to a person real time

  • 5tu1987 Stuart Hurcombe (@5tu1987) reported from Armitage with Handsacre, England

@virginmedia You mean the number we have used that have fed us countless information that is untrue/impossible to achieve to try and ‘keep us happy’. Also love the identical response to the previous tweet.. Nice template! Hopefully speak to someone in the week who maybe WANTS to help us

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong You're right, it's not good enough... but it's not insecure either. I debunked 3 random words years ago. Now *that* is poor advice.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@kinoshitajona @ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Agreed, neither are secure and should never be used... however it's certainly possible to make an unbreakable MD5 password.

  • photo_bloke Mike Hillman (@photo_bloke) reported from Stafford, England

@virginmedia (3/3) I'm the customer, and I would like to think you would accommodate my wishes and show me some respect as one of the people who ultimately pay for your profits. I will not, however, be a customer for much longer

  • JuiceeBerry Bae △△△ (@JuiceeBerry) reported

@virginmedia Thank you John 👍 i wish that info would have been given when i selected ‘cancel services’ on the whatsapp chat, instead of them repeatedly asking me loads of questions about what other company i want to sign up with.. would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.

  • ashfazza Ashley Farrell (fazza110) (@ashfazza) reported

@GingerViking18 I ****** off bt and went with virgin media Had no issues since

  • Jay1Alexander Elvis’s Human (@Jay1Alexander) reported

@virginmedia They amount of hoops I have to jump through to speak to someone is ridiculous. I’m sorely tempted to just cancel my direct debit. Will that convince you I’m the account holder?

  • sbakshi84 Sanjeev Bakhshi (@sbakshi84) reported

@virginmedia There is a vast disconnect between your customer services, pre-install team and construction team. Nobody can give live updates or even read notes correctly

  • MrsBee11839929 MrsBee (@MrsBee11839929) reported

@virginmedia shocking customer service. No transparency - making it all but impossible for customers to upgrade or cancel. On hold for hours using live chat. Publish contact numbers!!

  • SymmonsPauline Pauline Symmons (@SymmonsPauline) reported

@virginmedia I want to cancel my father’s Virgin Media account and after explaining to someone why I was told that someone else would have to speak to me and they would phone me back.

  • MichaelLyle3 Michael Lyle (@MichaelLyle3) reported

@virginmedia That surely cannot be a serious question. I’ve literally outlined what was said above. In detail. Stop following a script and deliver some decent customer service

  • p2435 dangerfield macdougal (@p2435) reported

@virginmedia I’ve had no real updates in the 3 days. Just est. fixed times, when I call up to chase. I signed up to text updates. Have not had a single piece of info sent to me. And no email communication. Whoever runs your customer service team needs to go on a training course

  • DaksBled Danyal Akinyede (@DaksBled) reported

@lucyhattersley @virginmedia Worst customer service in history.
