Virgin Media Issues Reports Near Newport, Wales

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Newport and nearby locations:

  • benj8min Benjamin Hartrey (@benj8min) reported from Cardiff, Wales

Another day in the life of a @virginmedia customer. TV showing fault. Ran online diagnostics, didn't fix. Site says to call. Call. Go through menu, TV, fault... sends me a text with a link to online diagnostics, says "thanks for calling" and hangs up. Worst. Company. Ever.

  • benj8min Benjamin Hartrey (@benj8min) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia A laughable statement in all honesty you're known for terrible service, demonstrated by the line "Package changes". Who said package changes? I have a TV package, I signed up for, have a contract for and have been using since June. It's disappeared your end, I have the docs.

  • benj8min Benjamin Hartrey (@benj8min) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia I dunno mate, that's why I tried to call you lot. You can't help, so don't worry about it. Another weekend without TV and internet, waiting for your engineer to turn up. Another complaint. Another refund.

  • GarethThwaite Gareth Thwaite (@GarethThwaite) reported from Barry, Wales

@virginmedia can you please just admit you value new customers over 20yrs plus ones? @BT want to help a family out?

  • thelee_x_w lee williams (@thelee_x_w) reported from Cwmbran Central, Wales

@virginmedia another day another WiFi outage. This really is the worst WiFi I've ever had. Legally as you are not providing the service as promised am I allowed to cancel the contract ? @CitizensAdvice

  • benj8min Benjamin Hartrey (@benj8min) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia With respect, your customer service advisors are useless. As is the technology for contacting them. As per my initial message. Last time I went through this I was booked a chat appointment by your twitter team with someone who specifically handled the complaint.

  • MaartenSleeckx MaartenX. (@MaartenSleeckx) reported from Victoria, Wales

@virginmedia Clearly not as the issue keeps coming back after multiple engineer fixes outside AND in my home. You're lying through your teeth and leaving me in the dark literally. Stop hiding behind "standard business" replies, be human and help me.

  • thelee_x_w lee williams (@thelee_x_w) reported from Cwmbran Central, Wales

Word of warning avoid @virginmedia 4 wifi like the plague. I rarely get even 20% of advertised speeds & the CS team are next 2 useless. Paying 4 daily disappointment that upsets the kids. Will never go back 2 them ever. Worst service I ave ever received @EE was so much better

  • benj8min Benjamin Hartrey (@benj8min) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia It doesn't. No changes made. I had major problems setting this up, it went through someone in your complaints department and they had to do something manual to set the package I was on up. Clearly, even they are incapable. I've had TV for a few months, then it's just gone off.

  • amandaroberts10 amanda roberts (@amandaroberts10) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia is there a problem in the CF23 area ... no WiFi??

  • NobbyD27 Rob Downer (@NobbyD27) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@syeporter180 @virginmedia Cancel the contract and go to Sky

  • macauc01 Christina Macaulay (@macauc01) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia terrible service. You booked to install my equipment on 13th Dec 2023. Wrong year and no one will sort it out. Your fault entirely

  • Carl_E88 This is Carl🏳️‍🌈😺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🍕 (@Carl_E88) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia any chance of supporting existing customers, currently paying £32 a month but your offering new customers 25 a month. Helpline said nothing I can do as existing customer.

  • gazthebluebird1 Gareth Jones (@gazthebluebird1) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia I am unable to sign into my online account and trying to speak to anyone at your company its like trying to make contact with the moon, can you open up a DM conversation to help please?

  • andylance1977 andy lanyon (@andylance1977) reported from Newport, Wales

@virginmedia why does it seem impossible to sort my TV and WiFi out? My partner has been phoning up on and off for a year or more about poor signal, not being able to use catch and apps and general poor service. Just get fobbed off.] Is this how you treat all customers?

  • gazthebluebird1 Gareth Jones (@gazthebluebird1) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia That's not going to help me reset my password.

  • AcuharmonyUK Acuharmony-UK (@AcuharmonyUK) reported from Clevedon, England

@virginmedia No reported issues. Tried the fixes before, and so did virgin chat. Not just my handset, other people are having the same problem. Am I going to have to change networks, is that what you're saying? Due to the change to O2?

  • MaartenSleeckx MaartenX. (@MaartenSleeckx) reported from Victoria, Wales

@virginmedia Screw you. Only me dying bothers anyone, literally anyone, it's always impossible to help me until people understand that I will kill myself. You're no better than them. See you in 2 weeks or not "AB".

  • markccfc70 Mark Smith (@markccfc70) reported from Cwmbran Central, Wales

Been with @virginmedia back as far as old NTL days. Downgrade our package for the first time ever to keep costs down, and the Internet must have crashed at least 8 times today, the day after we changed. Absolutely useless, on the phone tomorrow to cancel this **** completely.

  • NobbyD27 Rob Downer (@NobbyD27) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@syeporter180 @virginmedia I’m on virgin and it’s not that great Sye, I was going to sky before I renewed but had the same problem as you because I’d of had to wait months for BT to install a cable so just stuck to the devil I know in the end

@virginmedia can you tell me what F010312210 issue is? A new email is stating 10am tomorrow, at that point it will be 48hrs! This is horrendous service, I hope your technicians will be working through the night!

  • Simmy1876 Alan simpson (@Simmy1876) reported

@virginmedia It’s not a service outage, I’ve checked that for the past month that the broadband has been dropping in and out. Followed your self diagnosis/repair faults guide numerous times. All to no avail

  • ShaunfromDurham ShaunfromDurham 🇬🇧 (@ShaunfromDurham) reported

@virginmedia We have done, they passed it to BT. Apparently your contractors have done this in most streets so clearly not learned the 1st time they did it. Disappointed noone is remotely interested in actually resolving the issue caused by your guys.

  • Kazzaa_24 Kazzaa (@Kazzaa_24) reported

@virginmedia Both WiFi and wired has been an issue. Thursday 1st Dec was the first day I was able to connect but Friday and today I've had no/very low upload speeds again.

  • MillingtonVilla Andrew Millington (@MillingtonVilla) reported

@virginmedia since you’ve switch me to the @O2 network, my data coverage has been absolutely terrible. Not a great switch for customers for the sake of saving some £

  • thesturge Claire Sturgess (@thesturge) reported

@virginmedia basically the engineer tells us we've been 'unplugged' in the junction box and we need plugging back in. But when I try to explain this, they don't understand. And this time we actually had to get a NEW phone to prove there was a problem before a technician could be booked in.

  • thesturge Claire Sturgess (@thesturge) reported

@virginmedia Just managed to talk to someone. Phone plugs into the wall socket (a virgin media one, the master socket & the only one) Now we've tried two phones, including a new one, they're sending a technician. (This has happened 4x before and it's always problem with the junction box!)
