Virgin Media Issues Reports Near Cardiff, Wales

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Cardiff and nearby locations:

  • pimlights Paul Middleton (@pimlights) reported from Newport, Wales

@virginmedia crawling to a halt again. Yesterday evening very slow - 1.5Mb download. Now so low that can’t login to any online services or run Speedtest - latency too low. Virgin Media app says “good service”, but the Help Desk admits it is not going to be fixed until 29th Mar!!!

  • pontyboi daniel james lewis (@pontyboi) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia I have called this number twice but am still awaiting a further call back. It is shocking that a company can charge such high fees especially as I was told when taking the contract moving house would not cause any issues. If you would wish to call me directly please dm me.

  • Carl_E88 This is Carl (@Carl_E88) reported from Cardiff, Wales

I love how the rain slows my internet down @virginmedia

@preospurs @virginmedia They’re in breach of their contract with the service so I will have a right to cancel.

  • pontyboi daniel james lewis (@pontyboi) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@itvMLshow how do I go about getting a refund for a misold contract from @virginmedia I told them I was moving house during contract but they said the area would be covered which its not & have now been charged a cancellation fee of £177. Customer service has been dreadful.

  • MJSwindlehurst Matthew Swindlehurst (@MJSwindlehurst) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@jordanjaylam @virginmedia @richardbranson I am experiencing the same problem Jordan. Pay £3 a month extra for boosters that don’t work, as well as WiFi that doesn’t connect to all the rooms, liberty! Hope your problem gets resolved soon.

  • MJSwindlehurst Matthew Swindlehurst (@MJSwindlehurst) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@jordanjaylam @virginmedia @richardbranson 6 engineers out and 2 WiFi box later and still not working Jordan, a quite atrocious customer service

  • berryleigh Berry (@berryleigh) reported from Beechwood, Wales

@virginmedia I’m on the phone as I have problem with the WIFI and the manager in the call centre is screaming at your call centre staff. Really, really incorporate. Disgusting.

  • michaelck1972 Michael (@michaelck1972) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia It’s supposed to be a 100Mbps service but it’s rarely at that speed. No WiFi in the kitchen (5meters away) and in the bedrooms upstairs. It’s th worst WiFi I’ve had in years. Kids can’t use PS4 in the room directly next to the one with the router in it.

  • michaelck1972 Michael (@michaelck1972) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia It’s always this poor. Just a poor service from you. Completely inconsistent and the WiFi is a joke. A reboot makes no difference.

  • EricArthurBlai4 Eric Arthur Blair (@EricArthurBlai4) reported from Weston-super-Mare, England

.@SkyHelpTeam was due to have Sky broadband fitted on Feb 1st ... it is now March 25th & I just get fobbed off with you blaming @WeAreOpenreach If only @virginmedia coverd my postcode I wouldn’t have this problem ..

  • EmmaRya61456992 Emma Ryan (@EmmaRya61456992) reported from Cardiff, Wales

@virginmedia And that’s been the consistent problem, you’re one organisation who fail to talk to your own internal departments! Not what us Customers want! Very poor Customer service 😡@TomMockridgeVM

  • gingio Shane (@gingio) reported from Cardiff, Wales

Another poor show from @virginmedia. They’re going downhill...

  • HayleyaReed hayley reed (@HayleyaReed) reported from Weston-super-Mare, England

@virginmedia please sort out your fiber broadband! I have only been with you since the end of Dec & have had nothing but problems, I work from home but sometimes have to go to the local @CostaCoffee to use theirs to save me & be able to do my job just because yours is so unstable

  • Lil_Dix1984 kate dixon (@Lil_Dix1984) reported from Victoria, Wales

@virginmedia Right right, then tell your customers in said affected areas, what is actually happening. We’re left in the dark while you’re fixing “issues”. Maintenance and upgrades is maintenance and upgrades, not “issues”.

  • DadBodChef DadBodChef (@DadBodChef) reported

@virginmedia No idea. I’ve heard nothing so assume not. Customer service on the phone had no idea what I was talking about and it cost me £15 for the privilege. Still can’t access Netflix, no email, no option in my account. 4 months and several IT tickets later, never heard anything.

  • Ahmed_Moghazy Ahmed Moghazy (@Ahmed_Moghazy) reported

@DaveZ_uk @virginmedia £288 to cancel the contract you didn’t even ask for or accept?! That’s ridiculous!

  • firemantim33 long shanks (@firemantim33) reported

@virginmedia Nope tried all that just get messed about. Upgraded package 2 weeks ago, been told I would get WiFi boosters and that I need a hub 5. Already have a hub 5 and been told on 3 occasions they. Netflix still doesn't work haven't had an activation email, its not on my virgin media app

  • gogowhippet Matt Rowe (@gogowhippet) reported

@virginmedia since switching to a virgin business package my internet service has drastically deteriorated. Despite having the fault identified for over a month you have failed to resolve it effectively. At what point will you be issuing the relevant compensation?

  • Pabl0Blanc0 Pablo Blanco 🇪🇸 (@Pabl0Blanc0) reported

@virginmedia A week Thursday, Sunday, then again Tuesday or Wednesday this week. They just grind you down until you give up, I hear it all the time. Well I'm not giving up! Going to halve my direct debit as I'm only getting half a service.
