    For a while now, I’ve been dissatisfied with the performance of my elderly rented @virginmedia TIVO TV box. Tonight it ceased to function, so I phoned for a fix. I didn’t get a fix. Instead the operator tried to sell me a new one at extra cost. Not a happy bunny!

    @virginmedia is there a problem with credentials today. I can’t login to VM and I know my user/pswd is correct.

    @virginmedia I’m using the hub in modem mode. From the logs (which only go back to 9.12am) there are several critical errors coinciding with each outage. It’s looking like the modem isn’t getting a response from VM at that time.

    ironic that the hold music on @virginmedia ‘s “help line” contains the lyrics “please don’t let me down”. The very reason i’m calling for the upteenth time. 100 hours since i was promised a manager calling back in 48hrs, and 48hrs since they said it would only be another 24 hours

    @JohnJef51763960 @virginmedia I didn’t see that issue. My most recent outage was 18.00-18.10 yesterday. No issue was reported on the status page.

    @virginmedia @JohnJef51763960 I’ve added log files to the Virgin community and have been assured that someone will be looking at the issue. From the logging feedback received suggest this is not a customer premises issue.

    @camcanary lost @virginmedia at the moment. Nothing on the service status page but this time the Cable Modem is flashing green indicating an outage

    @virginmedia Yes. Service is restored at the moment but understand it’s an ongoing issue. Usually a short outage (9 minutes) but this was 25mins this time.

    @virginmedia I told them repeatedly that I did not believe that a booster would work. Even when I would be required to pay for one. The speed at the hub as you can see in WiFi is poor so you tell me.

    @steveeejg It looks like to get a basic fibre service it might be around £25 and for higher speed from about £40 monthly. One test is will they charge to plug a home phone into a router and allow a landline no to be transferred? Virgin Media charges, putting the monthly rate up to about £55

    @virginmedia Hiya, I have just tried to log AGAIN that my broadband isn't working. Why is it you are more than happy to take my money but cant resolve the issue. That's 3 days now. All I am told is to run a diagnostic check. ITS NOT MY HUB

    @virginmedia Yeah it's not WiFi because it's affecting my pc which is connected via an Ethernet cable to the back of the hub. Just now it went down and came back up but there was no change to the lights on the hub.

    @virginmedia We're on M100 fibre. Speed isn't the issue. The issue is that whole thing stops working for no clear reason; no warning lights, no issues on the service check website. It takes out all the devices at once. And it's been getting worse since the bill increase was announced.

    @virginmedia Well the latest was tonight with an argumentative adviser Moin, who talked over me and basically said the system was fine and was pretty much my problem, but everything was perfect from all the tests he did (it wasn’t) and off you go.. So not sure what the test was he did..

    @virginmedia It shows on the contract it was a free 3 month trial, I confirmed on the phone when I would need to cancel it, and the person I later spoke with regarding my bills also confirmed it had been added it error.

    @virginmedia just hung on for 56 minutes to sort out broadband and the phone cut off. Diabolical internet service, diabolical broadband speed, paying for 600mb and lucky if I get 40mb. Keeps dropping out. Kids can’t do live lessons. #Crap
