@steveeejg It looks like to get a basic fibre service it might be around £25 and for higher speed from about £40 monthly. One test is will they charge to plug a home phone into a router and allow a landline no to be transferred? Virgin Media charges, putting the monthly rate up to about £55

@virginmedia Yeah it's not WiFi because it's affecting my pc which is connected via an Ethernet cable to the back of the hub. Just now it went down and came back up but there was no change to the lights on the hub.

For a while now, I’ve been dissatisfied with the performance of my elderly rented @virginmedia TIVO TV box. Tonight it ceased to function, so I phoned for a fix. I didn’t get a fix. Instead the operator tried to sell me a new one at extra cost. Not a happy bunny!

@virginmedia I told them repeatedly that I did not believe that a booster would work. Even when I would be required to pay for one. The speed at the hub as you can see in WiFi is poor so you tell me.

@virginmedia Fix time was by 15:00. Yea and now it’s 15:00 I have service. Convenient. This happens all to often. 5 plus hours of no service. Special after speaking with the customer service team about the so called service improvements. Where are these so called service improvements???

Hey @virginmedia why is my Internet up and down like a yoyo this morning? Are your systems breaking down under the load of people completing the census or something?

@virginmedia claim on my ever-increasing monthly bill: “Looks like you’ve made some changes”. All I did was complain that their TV box wasn’t working. Still haven’t received the new one either. Customer service? Forget it.

@virginmedia Yes. Service is restored at the moment but understand it’s an ongoing issue. Usually a short outage (9 minutes) but this was 25mins this time.

ironic that the hold music on @virginmedia ‘s “help line” contains the lyrics “please don’t let me down”. The very reason i’m calling for the upteenth time. 100 hours since i was promised a manager calling back in 48hrs, and 48hrs since they said it would only be another 24 hours

@virginmedia We're on M100 fibre. Speed isn't the issue. The issue is that whole thing stops working for no clear reason; no warning lights, no issues on the service check website. It takes out all the devices at once. And it's been getting worse since the bill increase was announced.

@virginmedia So no answer as to if its the area or our box? Or as to what issue takes 7 days to resolve? Not sure as to why I keep getting these generic replies, do you just randomly push a button as to what reply you are going to give next?

@virginmedia That’s unreasonable as I have a broadband problem and you make an assumption I have other means of communication #virginmedia #poorcustomerservice

James Smith

@virginmedia Appreciate your working to fix this. Just in terms ofpotential compensation not sure why you make people register for this. I feel this should be automatic when you have a known issue. Do you have an acceptable limit for outage say per month? Before I can cancel within contract?
-
Clive Gowing
(@CliveGowing) reported
@virginmedia Looks like the Twitter feed has the same training as your call centres and help desk number. Communicate with the customer to the point that I might need to solve an issue and the advise they call an automated number to a help desk that doesn’t help.
