@virginmedia Funny enough that’s the same thing two individuals told me over the phone and made me explain the issue multiple times! @virginmedia clearly don’t value existing customers.

  • bowercolin

@virginmedia less than 3 minutes to answer a sales call, then in excess of 20minutes (3 times) when there’s a sniff of leaving. Bye bye 👋 to a 20yr customer.

  • bellinghman

Dear @virginmedia - your web page doesn't think that your services are available on my postcode. Should I cancel my account? I was hoping to change my package

  • TMITV19
Let's get back to normal #KBF (@TMITV19) reported from Bedford, England

@virginmedia Eventually I looked at my phone and saw that they'd replied after 3 hours. I saw it half an hour later and replied but they then weren't talking to me. The next day I called up and got through after 3 minutes. Using covid as an excuse for poor service is awful.

  • Biggriffin4
Biggriffin (@Biggriffin4) reported from Huntingdon, England

@virginmedia So my Broadband/phone is now £50. And a £3.50 price rise. But new customer can have it for £26.99... you robbing ungrateful bastids, existing customers obviously don't matter!! Time to look elsewhere.

  • GoMcMahon
#DocMartin (@GoMcMahon) reported from Saint Ives, England

@virginmedia I have tried every method to get a response and a solution from customer support and it's now another week gone by that we can't use the V6 box because you haven't sent me a small cable adapter. @Ofcom you could be more firm with companies that let customers down!

  • GoMcMahon
#LITFL (@GoMcMahon) reported from Saint Ives, England

@virginmedia I have been a customer for 20yrs, have a minimal service broadband, tv and phone and pay £60/m. There's no match in current bundles. The nearest offer to new customers has more tv, less broadband but costs only £38/m for 12 months then £69 This is just wrong!

  • Sibby_Sibthorpe

@virginmedia Text couldn’t help. Telling me to ring 150 😡

  • Benleo
    Ben Leo (@Benleo) reported

Update to this… they really are the worst company in Britain right now - and you won’t believe what @virginmedia have done. I called VM on April 30 asking them to come and fix a broken outside cable at my house. I was (wrongly) told that in order to fix the cable I had to agree a new two year contract which included a main 360 TV box and three streaming boxes. Nothing was ever arranged about fixing my problem, the broken cable. The Indian call centre guy just wanted a sale. After many calls and a missed appointments where I waited in pointlessly after no one ever turned up, an engineer came to fix the cable and install my new boxes. The TV never worked. More calls, two more engineer visits, and it still wouldn’t work. I then posted the original below on X. I then a call from the Virgin Media CEO @LutzSchueler’s assistant to say they MISSOLD me the new contract I never wanted because VM no longer offers 360 TV boxes which allow you to pause, record and rewind live TV. I said ok fine, just put me back on my old contract which had a 360 box - the contract I never would have left until you missold me a new one under the pretence I needed it to fix my broken cable. The CEO’s assistant said no, I can’t go back onto my old contract. And she said I can’t have a 360 box on my new contract. So I’m now stuck with a service I don’t want and was lied to about - with no option to return to my previous contract that I was perfectly happy with since April 2025. They’ve not only missold me a contract, spent hours and hours of my time trying to sort it and caused a hell of a lot of stress - but they’ve now also breached my old contract. She offered me £200 compensation and an apology and said I must stick with the new contract or disconnect. A completely shambolic, insulting and quite frankly disgusting way to treat a customer who has been with them for years. I’ve heard from many of you about similar situations and will now be taking the case to the ombudsman. A clear breach of the Consumer Rights Act and the The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. If anyone has similar experiences with @virginmedia please write them below or DM me. I’ll be fighting for British consumers to make sure they can never treat people like this again.

@Benleo @virginmedia I feel your pain. I had countless difficulties with both Virgin for consumers and Virgin for business. Disconnections and interruptions for weeks due to works they never told me about. They need to do better

@virginmedia Hey @virginmedia I have been unable to use my tv play back services and play any recorded programmes for almost a week. The service check is telling me estimated fix date as 18th May - that’s 2 days ago !! What’s going on ?

@Benleo They, Virgin media are terrible. I'm with Plusnet now, wonderful customer service, always speak to an English person in UK, they pick up quick too.

  • Sir_Moanalot_
    Sir Moanalot (@Sir_Moanalot_) reported

@Benleo @virginmedia They are awful. I’ve been stuck with an exorbitantly priced rolling contract because I plan to move house soon and have no idea if wherever I move to will have VM cable in the street. Zero reward for customer loyalty. When I do finally move, @virginmedia can get in the bin.

@LouiseMensch @virginmedia @Benleo They’ve worked brilliantly for me for 20 years. Enormous companies have very different user experiences at the margins. I’m sorry to hear about Ben’s and hope that they care enough about service delivery to fix it before it damages their brand.

  • VeeBee1001
    VeeBee (@VeeBee1001) reported

@mark_wootten Virgin Media would like a word. I was paying over £100 / mth for broadband and **** telly - no movie channels or Sky sports. Took the leap and switched Internet (£32/mth) and use free view only now. I don't miss a thing from Virgin.

  • Rough_Shuffle
    Rough Shuffle 🔀 (@Rough_Shuffle) reported

@Benleo @virginmedia I recently had to contact them. Their CS is the worst ever experienced. It's like it's ran entirely by 12 year olds on work experience. I'm horrified at how bad it is. Initially contacted because of a litany of f'ups on their part. CS seems completely dethatched from the company.
