@BBCWatchdog can't believe you placed @virginmedia 4th in your comparison. Their customer service is the WORST! Non-UK based poor phone support, prices forever going up, and rubbish hardware.

@virginmedia Yes I am, connected to the internet but it barely works and when it does is slow, download speed is 3mbps when it’s normally like 60

@virginmedia Yes says 30 mins again. But the main status site says no issues.

@virginmedia I realise Twitter is not the best place to have this conversation but your online agent couldn't organise any help ("the system won't let me") unless I found someone with a different laptop, so it seems worth a shot.

@virginmedia I've read all the useless help countless times (in the hope that one day you actually include something useful). Yes, I've tried everything, and no it never resolves the issue.

@virginmedia I was meant to have my virgin media installed back on the 23rd and it didn't happen due to a wayleave. Was told to leave it with you guys and you'd let me know. Its now the 4th October and still no communication from you at all. Very poor service.

@virginmedia I have been a customer for 20yrs, have a minimal service broadband, tv and phone and pay £60/m. There's no match in current bundles. The nearest offer to new customers has more tv, less broadband but costs only £38/m for 12 months then £69 This is just wrong!

@weemazsmith @virginmedia Oh god Maz, I left them 4 yrs ago, nothing but trouble & customer service were always rude & dismissive, I also found they were still taking direct debits for a mobile phone contract 2 months after it was terminated! Bin them!! Xx

@weemazsmith @virginmedia Yes had that & it wasn't until I cancelled everything that I got the DD issue. If you don't want to leave them, ask for disconnection, they have a different attitude, but the issues re connection continued for me xx

@virginmedia got problem with less than 1mb download speeds at the moment and service status test of equipment says that there is an issue that’ll be fixed in 30 mins. That was 2 hours ago and no improvement. Area 31

@virginmedia No problem! Hub 3. Speed just not as hoped. It's some sort of street-to-house issue, acknowledged by a technician on a previous visit. Separate (Google) WiFi is rock solid.

@virginmedia Thanks rung them got no answers but mostly that it sounds like no one is coming and then got hung up on. This sounds like the beginning of us not having the greatest service afterall

@virginmedia Oh and as I'm renting I don't have a Virgin Home phone or account number. So that was a couple of minutes wasted to be told that there are no problems.

@virginmedia Anyway, would you tell me the correct contact details to escalate this to an official complaint as I asked three times in the whataspp thread and no-one gave us the info? I think the log of this thread needs to go to the regulator to see how bad it was.
-
Promises Rust
(@PromisesRust) reported
@virginmedia Cancellation could take a few seconds (a cancel button on virginmedia account page), a couple of minutes (an email address) so the fact that cancellation is such a long, expensive and painful process is a deliberate choice by Virgin. So they need to be stopped.
-

@virginmedia actually no, you shouldn’t be asking, it’s none of your business but since we’re here already: I can’t hear. gonna help me cancel it now?

@SueSuezep @virginmedia ..? Poor customer services..?absolutely no loyalty to existing customers especially ones of 30 years.. new customers massive monthly savings on broadband, old customers pay full price
-
Promises Rust
(@PromisesRust) reported
@virginmedia .@ofcom must surely be aware how difficult Virgin make cancellation. All they need to do is require internet providers to have cancel button on website like almost all online subscription companies do. I can't even escalate to .@ofcom as Virgin refuse to start complaint process.
-
Promises Rust
(@PromisesRust) reported
@virginmedia Sure, we went through that for 5 hours, pinged between the same person more than once, security checked successfully multiple times until the final person decided we had failed the latest check and terminate the thread.

@virginmedia Thank you - i appreciate the reply. Nonetheless there has been an intermittent issue for weeks, if not months. Given inability to fix this over that time, I’m honestly pretty low on confidence and you have this in hand.

@virginmedia This happens at least once a week and nothing has been done. We have made phone calls etc. We want out of the contract if you are not providing us with the service we were promised by signing an agreement with you.
