sarah (@sarahp0698) reported@edmorrish @virginmedia We have this with Virgin and black spots in the house leading to kids gamer rage. Ended up buying pack of 3 BT disc jobbies and not had a single issue since. Virgin routers are utter shite but doing this solved the issue. Hope this helps

Turned out the engineer who installed it (before we bought the house) had fitted some kind of limiter on the socket which prevented the broadband ever getting even close to its capability.
