  • lorraineesm lorraine smith (@lorraineesm) reported from Wolverhampton, England

See @virginmedia can’t be bothered to even tweet back an angry customer

  • lorraineesm lorraine smith (@lorraineesm) reported from Wolverhampton, England

@virginmedia your customer services are a joke half hour on the phone spoke to two different people being passed back and forth

  • SammyLouisee_ sammy♥ (@SammyLouisee_) reported from Wolverhampton, England

So after having problems with @virginmedia mobile decided to join @ThreeUK let’s hope this is a better network 🙌🏻

  • ItsOnlyCaitlin Caitlin Parker🧜🏼‍♀️🧜🏼‍♀️ (@ItsOnlyCaitlin) reported from Lichfield, England

Wasting my data in my own house is the worst. @virginmedia are the worst 😭😭😭

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong You're right, it's not good enough... but it's not insecure either. I debunked 3 random words years ago. Now *that* is poor advice.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong The irony here is 3 random words can be broken in as little as 40 seconds, maximum 50 minutes. A 10 character random password, by comparison, would take 7 weeks with the same hardware.

  • wolfboy78 pepe sprio (@wolfboy78) reported from Wednesfield, England

@virginmedia No tried again and unable to send an engineer because the fault is not happening .. I did try to explain it's intermittent 😡😡but with the language barrier she couldn't understand .. I will try and cancel my account later because I'm not paying for a service that has issues

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong I didn't say it was perfectly fine... but it's certainly possible to pick a secure 10 character PW within those constraints. I was a VM customer for 2 decades... I can't recall ever losing sleep over this.

  • DickyDodd Dicky Dodd (@DickyDodd) reported from Wolverhampton, England

So I've been on hold to @virginmedia Customer retentions for 17 minutes... Unreal.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @kinoshitajona @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Scott, we use the term "unbreakable" in the trade to imply the credentials cannot be broken in a timeframe which realistically presents a risk to the user... it's not an OED term. Sure, if we're talking to an end-user, you either use a different term or explain the meaning

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@kinoshitajona @ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Agreed, neither are secure and should never be used... however it's certainly possible to make an unbreakable MD5 password.

  • DickyDodd Dicky Dodd (@DickyDodd) reported from Wolverhampton, England

@virginmedia You seem to find it very easy to let go a loyal customer of 23 years. You won't be that sad.

  • terrysankey Terry Sankey (@terrysankey) reported from Wolverhampton, England

@SimonADouglas @virginmedia We have the occasional internet problem but since the last announced 'update' the hub seems to be resetting itself. Doesn't matter to the 'wired' machines but obviously disconnects the WiFi! Irritating as the restart times are long and inputting the names/password is a pain 🙄

  • DickyDodd Dicky Dodd (@DickyDodd) reported from Wolverhampton, England

Now holding for 20 minutes @virginmedia Customer retention department obviously trying a different tactic to keep me as a customer I've been with this company since 1997 and this how I have to be treated.

  • xpjxuk Paul Jenkins (@xpjxuk) reported from Walsall Wood, England

@virginmedia been hounded with call for 2 weeks finally answer to be offered disgusting customer service and when I ask about the offer on the Martin Lewis website told can’t have it please call me or I will be leaving and going to sky

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Because "secure" requires a context which neither the OP nor yourself have given. 99% of my passwords are 12 chars, A-Z, a-z, 0-9. They're not being broken in my lifetime... so to claim 10 is sufficient to justify leaving is daft.

  • simonpunch Simon Pugh (@simonpunch) reported from Wolverhampton, England

@virginmedia just had the call ended by your overseas call centre not the greatest service in the world!!

  • andrewanthony83 Andrew Anthony (@andrewanthony83) reported from Codsall, England

@SuperfastStaffs please let @virginmedia lay their cables in #Bilbrook and #Codsall we need proper #fibre broadband. We are being left behind with the copper solution that @WeAreOpenreach leave us with and it’s getting worse! @south_staffs @GavinWilliamson @StaffordshireCC

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong No, bash both :) As I said, it's a poor policy by comparison but I'd rather advise the user on how to choose a secure 10 character password than waste time preaching security to a social media staffer :)

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong This isn't as bad as some would make out. 10 isn't ideal, but it's not insecure either. That's not to say you can't choose an insecure 10 character password however...

Virgin Media Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • HolliCarden Holli “gobby scientist” Carden (@HolliCarden) reported

That’s the last time I fill out a supposedly anonymous feedback form for @virginmedia, told them their signal was awful and in the following days my broadband has gotten even worse. I didn’t think it was possible!!

  • italktogh0sts ᴊᴇssɪᴄᴀ ✨ (@italktogh0sts) reported

Another week with another #virginmedia issue. Still dunno why we pay them considering the internet always craps out on us. Absolutely no faults either. **** service.

  • kmcareavey Karen McAreavey (@kmcareavey) reported

@virginmedia But we have to wait until Monday!! There was an engineer in our street this morning and was working fine until he came, so why can he not come back and fix it!

  • BillGrose Bill Grose (@BillGrose) reported

@virginmedia the account was not set up correctly on the system, resulting in multiple problems. No one fixes the root cause. Then different operatives in different countries give conflicting advice. No continuity. We need a senior human to sort it out.

  • JayXIII Jason (@JayXIII) reported

@virginmedia It has, it’s actually come down by a matter of pence, but I do not know what has technically changed in the package, nor have I actually agreed to than, apart from the engineer saying he needed to put the phone on the hub (presumably so he didn’t need to fix the junction box?!?)

  • P_J_Kelly Paul Kelly (@P_J_Kelly) reported

@virginmedia The problem is the Apple product being faulty, which @Apple have acknowledged. @virginmedia as the retailer should replace my faulty phone and liaise with Apple after the fact. I’ve been a customer fo 20 years this is terrible customer service. All covered by Consumer Rights Act

  • m_ivica Ivica Milosavljevic (@m_ivica) reported

@virginmedia Three months down the line, I am still receiving bills for unreturned equipment ?!? I have made numerous phone calls, online chats, SMS messages, and emails to correct this and talk some sense, but obviously, nothing is working as the invalid bills keep coming.

  • MissBeBop Bhavna 🙋🏽‍♀️ (@MissBeBop) reported from Eastwood, England

When @virginmedia wifi is working it’s bloody amazing, when you need to raise an issue with them it’s the most frustrating experience ever. Today I have had 2 people hang up mid call, 3 bots, 2 people on chat and still in the same place. No ******* wifi!!!!

  • MattRollsOnes Matt Angell (@MattRollsOnes) reported

@WadeLudovic @virginmedia It's gone twice in the morning this week too, had to start work late twice as a result. Going to cancel my new contract if it happens again in the next 14 days as that's my cooling off period.

  • smartarce Spiteful evil (@smartarce) reported

@virginmedia Is anybody going to help ?
