Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Colwich and nearby locations:

  • gorman_wba Liam O'Gorman (@gorman_wba) reported from Walsall Wood, England

@virginmedia Your an absolute joke of a company, you charge me £50 a month for broadband and it hasn’t worked for the last 2 months, 4 people in our street have the same problem but yet when an engineer comes out they claim they’ve fixed it when they havent, sort it out, disgrace.

  • lKalpeshMakvana Kalpesh Makvana (@lKalpeshMakvana) reported from Walsall Wood, England

@virginmedia What a crazy unprofessional experience today when I called virgin media phone to cancel my phone and sim simcard contract...so now I come to know its handset and airtime both gonna separately cancelled. And I need to be very precise with day to call them again😡

  • ubermodd spooky sad face 🙁🎃 (@ubermodd) reported from Lichfield, England

why is virgin media down though

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong The irony here is 3 random words can be broken in as little as 40 seconds, maximum 50 minutes. A 10 character random password, by comparison, would take 7 weeks with the same hardware.

  • andrewanthony83 Andrew Anthony (@andrewanthony83) reported from Codsall, England

@SuperfastStaffs please let @virginmedia lay their cables in #Bilbrook and #Codsall we need proper #fibre broadband. We are being left behind with the copper solution that @WeAreOpenreach leave us with and it’s getting worse! @south_staffs @GavinWilliamson @StaffordshireCC

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong No, bash both :) As I said, it's a poor policy by comparison but I'd rather advise the user on how to choose a secure 10 character password than waste time preaching security to a social media staffer :)

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@kinoshitajona @ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Agreed, neither are secure and should never be used... however it's certainly possible to make an unbreakable MD5 password.

  • xpjxuk Paul Jenkins (@xpjxuk) reported from Walsall Wood, England

@virginmedia been hounded with call for 2 weeks finally answer to be offered disgusting customer service and when I ask about the offer on the Martin Lewis website told can’t have it please call me or I will be leaving and going to sky

  • SummerfieldGabe Gabe (@SummerfieldGabe) reported from Lichfield, England

omg @virginmedia has the WORST customer service 😭🔫

  • 5tu1987 Stuart Hurcombe (@5tu1987) reported from Armitage with Handsacre, England

@Gemgwar @virginmedia Basically.. nobody knows what the process is! Told we had to wait in ALL DAY yesterday for nobody to come (when we apparently now it’s only a package being delivered) STILL! nobody is clear if it’s a package being delivered or an engineer. Shocking service for what we are paying!

  • ObsessiveJohn John Sanders  (@ObsessiveJohn) reported from Wheaton Aston, England

@Appolotech @virginmedia I’ve had really intermittent quality of service with the Virgin BB. Switching to SKY end of month.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong I didn't say it was perfectly fine... but it's certainly possible to pick a secure 10 character PW within those constraints. I was a VM customer for 2 decades... I can't recall ever losing sleep over this.

  • Tedtalks13 Teds (@Tedtalks13) reported from Brownhills, England

YOUR softwares and products were back footed to defraud me hooked in on bill bob gates gap in his programme "and community of python con men" which the camera ip picks it all up bilateral to the fraud hooking in on virgin media @richardbranson best sort your shit out

  • SketchXZ SketchXZ (@SketchXZ) reported from Burntwood, England

Sorry stream was cut short @virginmedia decided it was gna go down 🖕 #twitch #internetproblems

  • Gemgwar Gemma Brayne (@Gemgwar) reported from Armitage with Handsacre, England

@virginmedia really not impressed with your service. No idea what is going on and when I’m actually getting my broadband. Your team just keep lying to me and it’s frustrating!!

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong This isn't as bad as some would make out. 10 isn't ideal, but it's not insecure either. That's not to say you can't choose an insecure 10 character password however...

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Because "secure" requires a context which neither the OP nor yourself have given. 99% of my passwords are 12 chars, A-Z, a-z, 0-9. They're not being broken in my lifetime... so to claim 10 is sufficient to justify leaving is daft.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @kinoshitajona @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Scott, we use the term "unbreakable" in the trade to imply the credentials cannot be broken in a timeframe which realistically presents a risk to the user... it's not an OED term. Sure, if we're talking to an end-user, you either use a different term or explain the meaning

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong You're right, it's not good enough... but it's not insecure either. I debunked 3 random words years ago. Now *that* is poor advice.

  • Gemgwar Gemma Brayne (@Gemgwar) reported from Stafford, England

@virginmedia Yes. They have said we will have to wait until WEDNESDAY, so we were lied to again. Shocking service!

  • TheRealMoscha Moscha (@TheRealMoscha) reported

@virginmedia I have, they refuse to send me out a updated superhub, would rather sell me a package then actually fix my problem is disgusting, also can you stop hiring people who can barely speak English. Will you send a new hub yes or no?

  • Stephen_Neal Stephen Neal (@Stephen_Neal) reported

@virginmedia When there are minor outages - or when the SuperHub decides to reboot - the short term nature of them means that the service is back up within 15 minutes or so...

  • gilesscott62 Giles Williams (@gilesscott62) reported

Received a message via Twitter from @virginmedia ‘How can I help’? Again raising expectations - only for again expectations to be dashed - still no contact. Abysmal!

  • totally_amar Amar (@totally_amar) reported

@virginmedia after 4 months, with numeorus calls to customer service and 2 technician visits, my broadband is still intermittent. Nearly every single day! Ridiculous! Can't get the help I want and can't speak to anyone who listens. The advise is either turn off/on or reset!

  • gilesscott62 Giles Williams (@gilesscott62) reported

@virginmedia 8/3 you requested our co cooperation in changing from PSTN to VoIP for my 87 year old mother in law, a widow with accessibility issues and hard of hearing. Since then nothing but trouble. Culminating in you telling us there was a default on account!

  • R4V1_85 Ravi (@R4V1_85) reported

@virginmedia please explain how M100 broadband only can cost me £44pm, but NEW customers can get get M250 for £15pm for 6month. Do I need to go to @MartinSLewis to fix this!! #MSE #MartinLewis

  • bigpassion71 Bigpassion (@bigpassion71) reported

@virginmedia hi there my elderly disabled mum lives on her own and apparently there is outage in her area which means she can use her phone or her devices to video call via the internet. Are there any emergency measures in place? She has no other means of communication

  • Chasmanthium Chas Manthium ⭐🇪🇺🎥 (@Chasmanthium) reported

Got a letter from @virginmedia today, saying they're going to be increasing their charges by inflation PLUS 3.9%. I mean -and pardon my French, Vicar - but ******* that's just plain theft.

  • Clarab2303 Clara Booth (@Clarab2303) reported

@virginmedia If I answer that one, I expect you'll refer me to Whats App or "customer service" and if I reply to that you'll refer me to complaints which will send me an AI response telling me to call customer service. It's quite dizzying and totally impossible to get a resolution.
