    @unsliced @virginmedia One strand of fibre cable can transfer a lot of data. When they talk about a cable it’s going to have multiple strands so it can carry even more. It sucks that it’s down, but repairing fibre is not trivial.

    @virginmedia The person I spoke with was very arrogant on the phone and was reading off a script. No help just said there was no record. We have problems with our internet daily and I try to work from home but I always end up in a local coffee shop using their internet that is #btinternet

    @virginmedia We’ve already called and you’ve said you haven’t had the request so I don’t see how calling again will help. Sky have told us they have requested it. Have seen numerous accounts of you blocking number ports to Sky so I’m not surprised. Pretty outrageous.

    @unsliced @virginmedia Sure, but no internet provider has a completely dual redundant system, if they did we’d never see any outages. You can mitigate certain issues with redundancy, but “cut the cord” in the wrong place and you’ll have an issue.

    @unsliced @virginmedia This does utterly suck though, I’m a business customer and rely on the internet during working hours, I have no internet, no link to the office etc. Funnily enough I just lent my redundancy 4G router to my daughter and then this happens!

    Why is terrestrial Irish TV so terrible this year? Cheap, shitty films, constant re-runs in prime time. I know most people have access to Sky and streaming services so you mightn't notice a difference, but this year really is particularly bad. @rte, @virginmedia

    @virginmedia Thanks John. This always happens and it really needs fixing properly or replacing. They often leave a gap at the bottom of the ill fitting door and it then gets prised open. When this happens it seems to destabilise services. Appreciate your prompt help thanks.
