Awesome, so effectively @virginmedia raise current loyal customers prices to fund the discount new customers can get in their sale. Roll on buying my own house and not being tied to them anymore. 12 years of this crap!

  • yiddo71

@virginmedia Hi there, I was curious to know why my next door neighbour can get your high speed internet services as well as most of the rest of my road, but my flat cannot and so I’m stuck on a maximum of 14Mbps. Anything you can do to help? TIA

  • Matt_Goss
Matt Goss 🏳️‍🌈 (@Matt_Goss) reported from Royal Tunbridge Wells, England

So far it has taken me 3 days just to confirm that I do need help from @virginmedia using the message function on the app. I’ve spoken with three different people and they each take a day to reply. I just need a new remote as mine has stopped working! I pay enough each month

  • jooz282

@virginmedia It was a little more than short lasting pixelation! The channel kept dropping completely and during the main fight it felt like we were watching in slow motion.

@Benleo @virginmedia I was a service engineer for many years for Virgin (formally Telewest). You most certainly do not have to renew a contract to get a cable fixed. Also the Indian call centre has been a long-standing issue for their customers. Very poor service

  • PaulUtd16
    Paul (@PaulUtd16) reported

@TonyDabell @mark_wootten @virginmedia 100% virgin are absolutely atrocious! Customer service skills of Darth Vader!

  • Malcolm_Sillick
    Malcolm Sillick (@Malcolm_Sillick) reported

@Benleo I've been with @virginmedia for many years. Whole reason, is that in my road/area, their broadband in miles quicker than the 'Openreach' slow version. To be fair, it works well most of the time - but when it doesn't and you have to ring the Indian Tech Support; Oh dear it's grim!

  • Benleo
    Ben Leo (@Benleo) reported

Update to this… they really are the worst company in Britain right now - and you won’t believe what @virginmedia have done. I called VM on April 30 asking them to come and fix a broken outside cable at my house. I was (wrongly) told that in order to fix the cable I had to agree a new two year contract which included a main 360 TV box and three streaming boxes. Nothing was ever arranged about fixing my problem, the broken cable. The Indian call centre guy just wanted a sale. After many calls and a missed appointments where I waited in pointlessly after no one ever turned up, an engineer came to fix the cable and install my new boxes. The TV never worked. More calls, two more engineer visits, and it still wouldn’t work. I then posted the original below on X. I then a call from the Virgin Media CEO @LutzSchueler’s assistant to say they MISSOLD me the new contract I never wanted because VM no longer offers 360 TV boxes which allow you to pause, record and rewind live TV. I said ok fine, just put me back on my old contract which had a 360 box - the contract I never would have left until you missold me a new one under the pretence I needed it to fix my broken cable. The CEO’s assistant said no, I can’t go back onto my old contract. And she said I can’t have a 360 box on my new contract. So I’m now stuck with a service I don’t want and was lied to about - with no option to return to my previous contract that I was perfectly happy with since April 2025. They’ve not only missold me a contract, spent hours and hours of my time trying to sort it and caused a hell of a lot of stress - but they’ve now also breached my old contract. She offered me £200 compensation and an apology and said I must stick with the new contract or disconnect. A completely shambolic, insulting and quite frankly disgusting way to treat a customer who has been with them for years. I’ve heard from many of you about similar situations and will now be taking the case to the ombudsman. A clear breach of the Consumer Rights Act and the The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. If anyone has similar experiences with @virginmedia please write them below or DM me. I’ll be fighting for British consumers to make sure they can never treat people like this again.

@Benleo @ailsybabe @virginmedia Please make an example and put them in their place. Hopefully out of buisness. Horrible company, Virginmedia.

@virginmedia you told me there was an issue with my 360 tv box and said would send me a replacement. You sent me a stream box that doesn't record tv and not what I pay for or want.... and no one answers the phone

  • Martin84Collins
    Martin Collins (@Martin84Collins) reported

@virginmedia Any update on this issue as anything in the virginmedia store when you try and load it up it freezes. There is a TV issue in service status it says it should have been resolved yesterday. My area reference is 031. Thanks

  • XONYT_

I switched my network from EE to O2 because I wanted 1Gbps broadband for my home, and Virgin Media offered me a discount, including unlimited everything and unmaxed speeds on my mobile through O2, which I already had on EE. Tell me why O2 is so much worse than EE, and why I cannot get a signal in many places. #pissed

@crt_dean @TheAmanuensis @MalachySteenson They actually tend to be handpicked from state funded media, which is literally every media outlet in the country to be honest, Gript is an exception, I'm sure there are others but most are in some way or other recieving state support. Even Virgin media got handouts.
