@GeorgeMonbiot Just saw your story about @vodafoneuk. You quote VUK as say “We do not have a policy of making it difficult for bereaved families to get in touch with us to cancel contracts.” Your question wasn't about difficulty contacting them, but canceling. Omissions matter.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK They set debt collectors on me when I tried to cancel. Ended up paying £150 I didn’t owe to make it stop as affecting my credit rating and endlessly being put on hold was driving me round the bend.Your experience obvs far worse -appalling.

@GeorgeMonbiot @Popehat @VodafoneUK That stinks. I don't know how it would work in UK, but if they wouldn't cancel the contract on the phone, I would've sent a certified letter with a copy of the death certificate.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Not going to lie, this will prevent me ever going back to Vodafone. I left them 2 years ago, for, among other issues, awful customer service. This just reinforces my view. Disgraceful behaviour by a company.

@Ofcom question if my service provider @VodafoneUK cuts off my service (not bill related) and i have no other device or service to make a call isnt that putting me in a dangerous position?

@GeorgeMonbiot @rc210352 @VodafoneUK A friend of mine worked there. The most venal, self-satisfied bunch of buttkissers she’s seen in her career. It’s like that cartoon where each monkey looks up and sees the butt of their manager, and looks down to the staff they crap on - and tell them the crap smells of roses.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK My advice to everybody is get a SIM-only monthly deal like Giffgaff. Much better value, they charge a monthly amount to your card and you can cancel when you want. Buy phone separately.

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot Shame on you Vodafone, what George Monbiot had to go through, along with thousands of others is clearly not due to errors but rather to shameful business practices.
