@VodafoneUK Thank you Josh. Sounds like a good idea to me. I’ll contact @SkyUK to cancel and then be in touch. Works out much cheaper that what I’m currently paying!

  • loopywhorl Trifurcations (@loopywhorl) reported from Pilton, England

@VodafoneUK are you able to check a payment issue for me?

  • AnnMartinF Ann Martin F (@AnnMartinF) reported

@VodafoneUK @GeorgeMonbiot I will never take out a contract with you.

  • GregPackman Greg Packman (@GregPackman) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Minus the bereaved parent I had a very similar experience in trying to cancel a contract back in 2014. Two years after I cancelled it they sent me a letter claiming I owed them around £500!!

  • openaccessguy Colin R. Turner (@openaccessguy) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I swore I would never use them after my experience in Spain when they were the only operators who charged me €15 for 1 GIG of download. That's not speed, that's total bytes, after which I had to top up again! And **** their coconut-scented shops.

  • lad_w_ ladw (@lad_w_) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK They did something similar when my mum died- told me the only way to close the account was to speak to her. Never thought I’d have to explain to another grown adult human why it wasn’t possible to speak to a dead person, but there I was, explaining to ears that refused to listen

  • arbcreative John Bowering (@arbcreative) reported

@VodafoneUK @speckyninja Hey @VodafoneUK how about you write something into your contracts (that no one reads) that’s allows you to suspend accounts on receipt of a credible ‘customer deceased’ call. This can be followed up in writing and if not challenged in 30 days accepted and the account closed?

  • Tagmanjenksy Anthony Jenkinson (@Tagmanjenksy) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK George. Unfortunately there is only one answer. Cancel all DDs, document everything, and send all correspondence back 'PLEASE TAKE ME TO COURT'. Then when/if this happens, you will be paid by the courts lots of compensation from @vodaphoneUK for harassment. It does work.

  • cazroz Cari Rosen (@cazroz) reported

@JoCallaghanKat @VodafoneUK Just back! Ironically turned down a lift as theoretically train was faster. They got home an hour before us…

  • britt_ellis Britt Ellis (@britt_ellis) reported

    @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Could @MartinSLewis help at all?

  • Lizziemcc73 Lizzie (Dame Eilís Ní Caisealáin) 🇪🇺🇺🇦 (@Lizziemcc73) reported

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK You need to put it in writing. An online conversation written down with an advisor was the only way I could finally cancel my account. Otherwise you have no proof of conversation and they ignore you. They are vile. I would never go back.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK This is dreadful Vodafone did this to my M-I-L (in 2001 so obviously not changed much) when her hubby died, my husband took the phone, and calmly said, ‘I think you’ll find death cancels all contracts’ and put the phone down. They never bothered her again.
