They have issued a new contract each time I contacted them to CANCEL my contract therefore I am sitting on a large bill. I am at a loss what to do next.

Installed BT just before lockdown and had issues with the aerial, it took them about 2 months to send someone out. Had no TV or Internet for that period of time. advisors don't put correct notes on the account.

No apology, and if I don’t agree to this and decide to just go to another provider I will be billed £300 for a broken contract..

I read on one of the BT Community forums that the addition of a wi-fi extender into the network can cause this issue... that would make sense as I’ve recently bought one (a BT model incidentally).
