When I move I always make their customer retention team (they'll definitely call you if you're leaving) know I'm moving specifically because of these tactics.

The fact that my Pixel 5, that has been on contract for a year and a half with @EE, would still cost me over £500 to cancel early - I’ve got 7 months left. Pixel 5 cost £500 brand new even back then! That’s like a £2k contract for a £500 phone!!

Maybe one of the smaller networks will do a European option or there will be a return to “bolt ins”. Alternative is get a local European sim to stick in.

As customers we have every right to think that they are not a very customer friendly organisation and shop elsewhere. After 25yrs as a Orange / EE user I will be moving on

We already have a law in the UK where we don’t get charged excessive roaming charges. We can’t help make laws in other countries anymore only our own.
