I've discovered that if you're not with Virgin for broadband you have Openreach, they service all others from Sky to EE, TalkTalk to BT. Also, Openreach outsource work so beware dodgy contractors!

@TalkTalk Nope, green ones just keep flashing over the internet and wireless ones. I've also already tried resetting the router etc. Just a terrible, unreliable connection.

@TalkTalk It is still the same yeah, and we have run the checks. The line check was done and said it sorted something but issue still ongoing. Obviously can't ring the issue through as call centres shut.

Here's some more. I had to phone talktalk on the day the broadband was due because the router hadn't turned up, and an engineer was meant to be arriving to set that up. Their website said everything was fine. After 2 hours on hold they told me there was a problem.

24 hours later, and nothing from #talktalk. I phoned them again. Was told it'd be another 24 hours and I was to expect a call at 12 noon the following day. The website was displaying a problem now for my order, at least. Guess what happened at 12 noon the next day?

@timleng @TalkTalk Really bad. I cancelled service cos I was moving out the country and they did everything possible to send the free kit return after I left, despite the long notice, to charge me for router.

@sharonkaursamra @TalkTalk The supervisor said she’d transfer me but I got the recorded message with the options. I lost patience. 10 minutes on line to Sky and I got a date for service transfer, a calls and broadband package and a land line number. Best of luck to you.

@TalkTalk …and I’m afraid enough is enough. Someone tried to call me this afternoon but the call went straight to voicemail because of the poor mobile signal which I’ve explained to you repeatedly to no avail. I’ve wasted hours trying to sort this out. Sky did it for me in 10 minutes.

Signed up to @TalkTalk and they're proving to be just as awful as every other broadband provider I've ever dealt with. And I've not even got an active service with them yet.
