BT (British Telecom) Issues Reports
Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:
-
Graeme Wallace (@Waldomatt) reported@bt_uk could someone contact me please. Having broadband issues and been onto your team all day and nothing has been done.
-
Trevor Chenery (@Krisp06) reported@countrymousie @btbusinesscare I wouldn't have thought so. You can keep your landline but you would need to move it -eventually - to a 'digital supplier' when the line service finally ends. However, I checked with Dr Google & his Elves & they made the following points which sound like very good news. "Starlink does not directly provide a traditional copper landline service, but it can fully replace one as part of the UK PSTN switch-off by supporting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. You can keep your existing phone number and handset by using a VoIP adapter connected to the Starlink router, suitable for replacing old copper lines. How it Works: Starlink provides high-speed internet, allowing you to use third-party VoIP providers (e.g., Plexatalk, Premitel) to make calls via your internet connection. Requirements: You will need a VoIP Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA) to plug your existing telephone handset into the Starlink Wi-Fi router. Suitability: VoIP over Starlink is ideal for rural areas where copper is being removed, offering sufficient speed and reliability.Alternatives: If you do not wish to use VoIP, you may look at mobile phone-based solutions, which are also often used when replacing old copper lines. As the UK moves towards a digital-only network by 2027, switching to a VoIP service via a broadband connection like Starlink is a common solution." You need to find & check it al lout with a good IT man to help you through the key steps & stages. You may also need to invest in new telephone hand sets around your house to replace your old BT ones. You won't need wires to connect them, it all works digitally through the air.

🐕📚 (@jaye_lass) reported@bt_uk an engineer visited and said there were no issues in my property but confirmed external issues causing slow connection and frequent connection drops. Escalated to open reach. Heard nothing since and job says closed on MyBT. Will I be refunded for ongoing poor connection?
-
Apex Signs (@apex_signs1) reported@btbusinesscare Can you dm me the correct number to call? I’ve just sat on chat with Avik for 45mins and it’s been cut off !!!! Your customer care is horrendous!! 🤬😱. Can you get someone to call me ? As you must have my mobile number on record !!!
-
chris curtis (@krustykriss) reported@bt_uk my phone line to my house from the telegraph pole has been damaged and is hanging down really low to the ground can you send an engineer to reattach it asap
-
Sebastian Colt (@Red_Rescue) reported@bt_uk Speaking to support on the phone anecdotally this seems to be a significant problem. I think the scale of it can be tracked by how many calls last less that a few seconds (due to dead air) or how many pin numbers are requested but not used. (as they are not supplied in time)
-
natasha (@Miss_Tasha_26) reported@bt_uk I need help and you are telling me to use my app which the issue I’m having as the login isn’t working. I do not have time to call so unless I get help on here I will be cancelling my direct debit with you
-
Chris Fletcher (@Get_Fletch) reported@bt_uk Yup they couldn't help. I need someone from the "outbound only" reactivation team to call me
-
Lisa & Millie (@LisaHewitt67) reported@bt_uk you don’t make it easy to be contacted and discuss an issue
-
Andy Mich (@MrAndyMich) reported@bt_uk I’m absolutely disgusted, in this day & age of phone scams you have people phoning from unsolicited numbers about contract renewal (+44 1438 989233). All the person on the other end of the phone could say was “I promise I work on behalf of BT”. I said I can promise I’m the king of England. Do you see how stupid and dangerous this practice is? I think as a company you desperately need to review this, it’s dangerous and it’s making me think if you can be trusted at all. In this day and age it’s unforgivable to do this in this manner.
