@TheStevieG123 @virginmedia I had a similar issue with EE (plus the phone wasn't a good enough upgrade for the money!) I sent it back within 14 days and got a sim only. 5g prob won't be worthwhile over here for some time yet

@doismellburning @danpalmer I have a self-hosted box with DigitalOcean in London. My use case is isolation from local networks and ISP privacy (I know I’m just moving the problem, but I trust DO more than Virgin Media). For those cases, VPN providers are a haven for data collection, so no.

@virginmedia I’m trying to help my mother-in-law who’s a registered cater, with her broadband. Her wi-fi signal is very patchy and it’s causing her problems (plus unnecessary extra stress). She has a Hub 3; can she get a Hub 4 without upgrading to Gig 1?

@sideshowtob @virginmedia @thinkbroadband Few friends, who run SME type buinesses, retail, deli / coffee bar, often have the router hidden away, tried to encourage them to mount a dedicated shelf, if Halo then locate it where you get a signal for it, tag the cables, everything now is IoT or connected

@sideshowtob @virginmedia @thinkbroadband I've done a few installs for friends, you can mount the 4G Halo unit, somewhere else to the main BT router, as long it has an RJ45 port, then run a longer cable eg from wherever you get a better signal via 4G to the main router location eg comms area, if you have a rack or shelf
