Trevor Chenery (@Krisp06) reported@countrymousie @btbusinesscare I wouldn't have thought so. You can keep your landline but you would need to move it -eventually - to a 'digital supplier' when the line service finally ends. However, I checked with Dr Google & his Elves & they made the following points which sound like very good news. "Starlink does not directly provide a traditional copper landline service, but it can fully replace one as part of the UK PSTN switch-off by supporting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services. You can keep your existing phone number and handset by using a VoIP adapter connected to the Starlink router, suitable for replacing old copper lines. How it Works: Starlink provides high-speed internet, allowing you to use third-party VoIP providers (e.g., Plexatalk, Premitel) to make calls via your internet connection. Requirements: You will need a VoIP Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA) to plug your existing telephone handset into the Starlink Wi-Fi router. Suitability: VoIP over Starlink is ideal for rural areas where copper is being removed, offering sufficient speed and reliability.Alternatives: If you do not wish to use VoIP, you may look at mobile phone-based solutions, which are also often used when replacing old copper lines. As the UK moves towards a digital-only network by 2027, switching to a VoIP service via a broadband connection like Starlink is a common solution." You need to find & check it al lout with a good IT man to help you through the key steps & stages. You may also need to invest in new telephone hand sets around your house to replace your old BT ones. You won't need wires to connect them, it all works digitally through the air.

Kenta (@nemurikyosirou) reported@bt_uk If you cannot resolve this here/via DM, issue a "Deadlock Letter" immediately so I can take this case to the Communications Ombudsman.
-
Legendary Hamster (@LegendaryH80858) reported@ArmchairAdml @bt_uk would you like to comment on why you're treating a long standing, loyal customer as badly as this? I feel a review of his account is in order so he can be put on a new lower rate and some compensation is in order as you're ripping him off! @MartinSLewis FYI...
-
Adam Darke (@adarkelimited) reported@bt_uk you’ll be hard pushed to find a worse company than these guys in the UK. Appalling customer service, terrible turnaround times for installing, hopeless comms, mistakes everywhere and you always end up carrying the stress and cost. Go with anyone else.
-
Chris Wall 💙🧡 (@ChrisWall85) reported@bt_uk can't log in via the website or app. Sends a code to my email (fine) then to my mobile which it never accepts. The screen just never progresses? Known issue?
-
jack250213 (@e4290936) reported@bt_uk calling itself 'customer centric ' grates with me after an internal transfer of my broadband went horribly wrong, then four hard searches on my creditworthiness and three attempts to get BT broadband and a TV package also successfully completed by phone after a time on the phone that I regret all fell through with no explanation or apology. Customer centric? You are having a laugh BT!
-
Scott Weller (@ScottWeller1974) reported@bt_uk Why are you holding me to a contract you can’t even provide the service for ?!
-
AFCdonnilad (@afcdonnilad) reportedPT1 @WeAreOpenreach Formal complaint incoming. @bt_uk @EE Order placed 6 April ahead of house move on 15th. Install promised 22nd. Now pushed AGAIN to 5 May with ZERO explanation. Repeated 48hr updates that deliver nothing. No broadband, TV, smart devices — for nearly a MONTH.
-
DemonicSuccubus (@MissSatanism) reportedNah @bt_uk you’re having a laugh. They finally turn up nearly 3 hours LATE! Why is it so difficult for you to have HUMANS answer a phone? Stop automating your **** with AI voices and options. It’s a piss take.
-
Mark Howell (@MarkTheSnap) reportedSo, this new digital voice from @bt_uk If the internet is down you can't use your landline. Guess what, the internet is down so we don't have a phone. We can't get a mobile signal in our area, that's why we have a landline. This is progress apparently.
