Hi @O2 we generally get very good service is most places, but there are two towns nearby (Hempstead and Rochester) where both me and my wife’s O2 phones show strong 4 or 5G signal, but little or no data connection. Too many users on one mast?

  • keldaaa
Kelda🍹 (@keldaaa) reported from Romford, England

Not sure why I’m paying over £40 a month for a phone network that constantly loses internet connection, so I can’t do a thing on it. @O2 🙄

  • davidmcbride1
David McBride FCCT (@davidmcbride1) reported from Erith, England

@O2 @MoneySavingExp Just had emails to say that my monthly plan with O2 will increase by £2.50 in April rather than £1.80. No explanation as to why? Can you help? I have 2 plans with you and both of these cost under £17 so I'm looking at about a 15% rise.

  • Alexscott066
    Alex scott (@Alexscott066) reported

@O2 Tried manually to select 3 different networks, all gave same response of "your Sim won't allow you to connect to this network". My phone, on a similar tariff , has had no problems. The same thing happened on a trip to Oz last year. Turned out the 'system' had put a 'block' on.

  • Calh48
    Cal (@Calh48) reported

@mhewson_MCH @O2 Especially as the service is absolutely shocking. Go into a city centre and can’t connect to anything. Ifnindidntnhave WiFi at home I’d never get anything - 4 calls this morning from people not one came through but got a text to say I’d missed the call…….

@albieamankona Some UK operators might choose to apply this principle anyway. At least that's what @O2 customer service told me.

  • tonywelsby
    Tony Welsby (@tonywelsby) reported

@Worly82 @O2 Was on O2 for a few years after leaving EE (after over 25 years) for ‘a deal’. Became terrible after the merger with Virgin. Thankfully was on a sim only rolling contract and managed to get out. Awful farmed out customer services.

  • CaptBloodSC
    ℭαρтαιη ℬlood 🇬🇧🇮🇱🇮🇷🇺🇸 (@CaptBloodSC) reported

@GarethTheNerd @mhewson_MCH @O2 They do, but you’re more likely to lose or have poor connection with the cheaper package. I suspect the lower pricing means you get dumped at peak times or during routine maintenance.

  • davepakey71
    Dave Pakeman (@davepakey71) reported

@paultownsend81 @O2 Wow you actually get 5g I’m still on 3g if ok lucky or may E or G or most times no signal but according got @O2 there isn’t a problem in my area

  • martinallen78
    Martin Allen (@martinallen78) reported

@mhewson_MCH @O2 I genuinely don't know how their staff aren't on strike because I bet they aren't getting a 13.5% pay rise..... well, someone might be but not the poor people having to deal with the fallout.

  • s7saunders
    Scott Saunders (@s7saunders) reported

@O2 Yes checked , there is really poor signal in lists of places locally at the minute and it’s now just my phone . The major issue is the work location and then the drive in between when it’s almost unusable
