@Jake_BHughes @virginmedia we had similar issue. they came when we were on holiday, no communication. we rang, were told they were coming yesterday to connect us, they didn’t arrive. told they’re coming today, didn’t arrive. spent 2 hours on the phone cancelling and was hung up on 3 times.

@PreetBharara @ZellaQuixote Around 2009 or 2010. I had a computer with a modem that could send faxes that was just about working, and I had to get @virginmedia to send an engineer out to fix my landline. The landline broke again a month or two later and hasn’t worked since, though they still bill me for it.

jesus christ talking to virgin media on the phone is ridiculous we rang to cancel, got hung up on 3 times, after 2 hours finally cancelled and after cancelling they’re trying to get us to sign up for phone contracts and sim cards! like we would want that after we just cancelled

@virginmedia Or you could invite your customers to get in touch when out of contract or you could even tell us what deals are on offer to help us stay. I suspect you don't because you realise that inertia effects are high when it comes to changing broadband packages.

@simonnread @virginmedia I'm having the same issue. For the period of lockdown I could broadly rely on the signal to my home office. The last 2/3 months I haven't and I am constantly having to tether my mobile at my expense. The router hasn't moved and neither has my office. The service has just worsened

@virginmedia 5 days no internet, promises of 24 hours it will be running, then told a little maintenance, yesterday at 9:30am we were told in 9 hours you will get a call guaranteed (didn’t happen). All day today no work has got done! Poor internet for years and now none!! WTH!!

@Jake_BHughes @virginmedia apparently we have a blockage where they need to connect us, which is what we would need fixing by thursday. being that unreliable we decided to cancel everything with them fully. a shame because what they offered was great. customer service department is not easy to get round 😭

@virginmedia Fully understand that in the grand scheme of people not having power etc this is only a minor inconvenience but having said that the amount I pay each month I would expect back up systems are in place to avoid this kind of service disruption. If not please reduce your prices.

@VespaPX12570 @virginmedia What it says is thar VirginMedia have no backup system. They should have learned from the incident when Channel 4 lost their subtitling for nearly two week because there was no backup system to switch over to.

Pt10 @virginmedia To improve customer service, try getting rid of virtual assistants that keep customers hanging around for hours. And do uphold your "policy" of contacting customers within the allotted times you state or are quoted, whether that is 2hrs or 24hrs.

@virginmedia I'm still getting error C233 - assuming it's part of the big outage issue. I seem to have more tv channels than earlier, but to be honest I haven't been checking much as I've just been watching stuff I recorded. Fingers crossed it's all sorted by the morning.
