@virginmedia Intermittent? It's absolutely, 100% buggered for those affected. Please could you have some transparency and tell your customers what has broken and an ETA to fix?

  • jasondflynn
Jason Flynn 💙 (@jasondflynn) reported from Letchworth Garden City, England

@virginmedia Totally shocking service from your team today. Nearly 2 hours of calls. Cut off; not being put through to disconnections and effectively being called a liar. Interested @virginmedia ? @MartinSLewis one for you

  • PaulClayton25
Paul Clayton (@PaulClayton25) reported from Stevenage District, England

@virginmedia loving the great customer services #NOT. No reply to my tweet from this morning! When this issue is repaired I demand a deduction, as this issue looks like it is going to affect my wife’s work tomorrow!

  • Gturv
GTT (@Gturv) reported from Bedford, England

In a constantly changing world we need something to rely on. @virginmedia can guarantee that you will be kept on hold long enough to see if you die waiting for help. #crapcustomerserviceasusual

  • MrsMummypennyUK
Lynn Beattie (@MrsMummypennyUK) reported from Knebworth, England

  • lutonmagoo
Big E (@lutonmagoo) reported from Caddington, England

@virginmedia Call the line says there’s no issues in my area by Neil no at least three people in the same street as me that have no service at the moment so again absolutely incorrect information

  • johnait72020789
John Aitken (@johnait72020789) reported from Stotfold, England

@virginmedia why do I only get a notice saying channel failed when I watch sky sports channel live, I can watch any other channel you provide me and don’t have a issue. I have done everything that you tell me to do but it still keeps happening.

  • Gibbothehammer

  • tony_cop
Tony (@tony_cop) reported from Ampthill, England

@LloydGriffith @virginmedia The worst company to deal with by some distance. Can never talk to anyone. Just some automated guff. Where you go round in circles

  • KevinSaunders23
Kefaloniaman23 (@KevinSaunders23) reported from Flitwick, England

@virginmedia just how much longer can we be expected to wait for you to get this problem sorted no TV all day, will this loss see us getting some sort of refund on our next bill???

  • jasondflynn
Jason Flynn 💙 (@jasondflynn) reported from Letchworth Garden City, England

@AdamDea29742908 @virginmedia But buying one between £50 and £200 will probably suit most and if it turns out it doesn’t solve your problems it hasn’t broken the bank. I went for an Asus one at about £120. Netgear is another strong brand. I had poor WiFi for years and it was a massive improvement. 2/2

  • johnait72020789
John Aitken (@johnait72020789) reported from Stotfold, England

@virginmedia Hi yes I’ve check all cables are in correct and I’ve turn off from socket and removed plug then put back the plug after 30 seconds but it didn’t help it still turn itself off twice after doing it.

  • Weanie4
Weanie4🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (@Weanie4) reported from Stotfold, England

@virginmedia why do you advertise high broadband speeds yet I never get over 17mbs more often in single figures, whenever I phone up it improves for 24hrs, your helpline is a waste of time and I regularly get outages as well, as in most days

  • PurpleWisdom
purplewisdom (@PurpleWisdom) reported from Bedford, England

@virginmedia @markscamilleri I have no service at all despite you saying it’s been restored. Can’t even get into the website to report. Everything is down even though it’s showing it isn’t.

  • loobylou470
Lisa 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧🐶⚽️🍺 (@loobylou470) reported from Stevenage District, England

Cheers @virginmedia, I finally get to sit down to watch some TV after being on the go for the past 17 hours to find network errors with my V6 box followed by a huge update. I really enjoy spending what little time I have in the evening rebooting and unplugging cables #frustrated

  • sianhelena_m
Sian Milner (@sianhelena_m) reported from Hitchin, England

@gashead @virginmedia Bizarre that it’s not actually Kelly causing an issue yet they’re being very helpful for me! Unfortunately not sorted! Honestly lost all faith in it being resolved. Never had such an issue trying to get an answer from a company. Hope you get sorted too!

  • jasondflynn
Jason Flynn 💙 (@jasondflynn) reported from Letchworth Garden City, England

@VisctFishpond @virginmedia I had similar problems to you; got the runaround from Virgin. Lots of research done and the issue is almost certainly the router. You can buy a third-party router and turn the virgin router into a modem. Solved all my problems. Worth a try.

  • PurpleWisdom
purplewisdom (@PurpleWisdom) reported from Bedford, England

@virginmedia @markscamilleri I’ve tried rebooting nothing is happening. All these people telling you they have no service can’t all be wrong. Stop giving us the same answer, we’re not idiots.

@david_hollas Their broadband has been ok. Family have it, certainly much better than virgin media. Their mobile phone service was horrific.

THREAD 8 — THE DEVICES Connectivity is only useful if people have something to connect. This takes us to Solidaritech in Bradford. The organisation was established in 2017 to refurbish unwanted technology and provide it to refugees and asylum seekers. It works with laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphones. The cumulative figure is now more than 5,000 devices since 2017. But that isn’t simply historical. Solidaritech is still operating. In 2025, Bechtle partnered with Solidaritech to repurpose 857 devices, including phones, laptops, PCs and tablets, which were donated to asylum seekers and refugees. Then there is Migrant Help. Through Community Calling, smartphones and free data have been provided specifically for asylum seekers and survivors of trafficking and modern slavery. Virgin Media O2 reported that Migrant Help had received 1,250 devices and free data, with a further 5,000 devices planned. Screen Share UK also received funding to provide devices, connectivity and repair training to refugees and asylum seekers. Its trainees then repaired and redistributed devices to other refugees. The device itself has therefore become part of an ongoing system. Technology is collected. It is refurbished. It is connected. It is distributed. And sometimes the recipient is taught how to repair the next device.

love this. all that capitalist guff about 'the consumer is king' it's just another lie. we are marks and the tories let us get shaken down by brands. glad to see those rats at @virginmedia held to account but they should be paying compensation too.

  • ChelleyBee
    Michelle Beatty (@ChelleyBee) reported

@virginmedia you’re customer service is an absolute disgrace No broadband or TV for 24 hours now and no one answering customer service - online service not recognising account number.

  • AdrianOso7
    Adrian Oso (@AdrianOso7) reported

@virginmedia I've sent private messages and they just ask me to call VM and get an engineer in. The engineer's conclusion seems to be that it's not worth the effort to extend the network by 10 metres, via a footpath which I own. And that's bang in the centre of a village right outside London.

  • MHartleyJones
    Martin Jones (@MHartleyJones) reported

@virginmedia OK Thanks. A technician will be visiting us tomorrow, though I suspect that the fault is in your exchange switch. My point is that you should keep repairs and sales separate. A customer with a serious phone problem is unlikely to buy extra services at that time.

  • alanholt7
    alan holt (@alanholt7) reported

@virginmedia any idea when WiFi will be back on in bb2 5eg area? Been down all day

  • WeAreOpenreach
    Openreach (@WeAreOpenreach) reported

@NeilJac74898351 @virginmedia Hi Neil, Virgin install and use their own network separate to the Openreach network, so any information on our website about services you can order wouldn't apply to any Virgin products and vice versa, I'm afraid. If you wish to order FTTP, you'd need to order through a (1/2)
