Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Letchworth Garden City and nearby locations:

  • jasondflynn Jason Flynn 💙 (@jasondflynn) reported from Letchworth Garden City, England

@StMirrenDaft @virginmedia @mat_fraser One of the key issues is their router. It’s rubbish and has programming which means main signal isn’t direct for WiFi. I had this problem; buy another router and turn Virgin one into modem. It solved my problem.

  • adove109 Aran Dove (@adove109) reported from Stevenage District, England

@virginmedia Hi, so atleast once a week my internet stops working... I’ve done the usual reboot etc. Last time I rang up because I’ve had enough of it, especially with my package going form £28 to £43. When I rang the technician done some kind of reboot to help stop this problem.

  • Dan_lutonbear dan@randrhotrodimports (@Dan_lutonbear) reported from Luton, England

@virginmedia do you actually have humans employed at your call centres ? After spending a total of 6 hours going from one recorded message to a automated line I have given up. I have absolutely had enough of your lack of customer service poor service poor quality broadband

  • swimmingsu Su Felce (@swimmingsu) reported from Cardington, England

So frustrated with @virginmedia spend over an hour on hold only to be cut off by their customer service rep #whatcustomerservice #frustrated #zerocustomerservice

  • tony_cop Tony (@tony_cop) reported from Ampthill, England

@LloydGriffith @virginmedia The worst company to deal with by some distance. Can never talk to anyone. Just some automated guff. Where you go round in circles

  • Dan_lutonbear dan@randrhotrodimports (@Dan_lutonbear) reported from Luton, England

@virginmedia 1st issue not being able to change address from 1 property to my new address (new build). 2nd issue trying to speak to someone to cancel our account.

  • randellauk82 Ashley (@randellauk82) reported from Luton, England

@virginmedia so I’ve had three weeks of hub issues 3 engineers out I tell you how to fix the issue but ignored 3rd manager to promise call backs and got nothing had 3 days wasted of my time and down service. Getting very 😡 when big companys disrespect their long term customers

  • jasondflynn Jason Flynn 💙 (@jasondflynn) reported from Letchworth Garden City, England

@VisctFishpond @virginmedia I had similar problems to you; got the runaround from Virgin. Lots of research done and the issue is almost certainly the router. You can buy a third-party router and turn the virgin router into a modem. Solved all my problems. Worth a try.

  • Dan_lutonbear dan@randrhotrodimports (@Dan_lutonbear) reported from Luton, England

@virginmedia Same as usual. Bots. Round and round in circles I want to cancel virgin media. Maybe you will contact me when I cancel any further direct debit payment 😡😡😡

  • AndrewMorgan64 Andrew Morgan (@AndrewMorgan64) reported from Stevenage District, England

@virginmedia the worst customer service I have experienced and what a rude person Sidney was and she would not transfer us to complaint department

  • jasondflynn Jason Flynn 💙 (@jasondflynn) reported from Letchworth Garden City, England

@virginmedia @mouthwaite Hi John; just jumping in on this. You really need to start advising customers properlyit doesn’t matter how many technicians visit it won’t solve the problem of the poor standard router and your default settings.

  • swimmingsu Su Felce (@swimmingsu) reported from Cardington, England

@virginmedia 1/2 been on the phone for over an hour on hold waiting for customer service - finally get through and the customer service rep cuts me off before I even say what I want...

  • jasondflynn Jason Flynn 💙 (@jasondflynn) reported from Letchworth Garden City, England

@Lindzell_LFC @virginmedia It’s their router. All the calls in the world won’t change the problem. You can buy a new router abs connect it to the Virgin one. Worked for me.

  • flissaggie Phyllis Charles (@flissaggie) reported from Luton, England

@virginmedia been trying to speak to someone about my contract been fobbed off ' our system is down' or ' I will call back' still waiting!!!

  • jasondflynn Jason Flynn 💙 (@jasondflynn) reported from Letchworth Garden City, England

@virginmedia You do realise that the majority of messages sent to you are people complaining that your Wi-Fi is very poor? So perhaps concentrate on that for existing clients rather than pushing new sales? Poor router is the issue. #slowerfaraway

  • andyjeffries Andy Jeffries (@andyjeffries) reported from Stevenage District, England

Better get your refund chequebook out tomorrow @virginmedia ! #ufc257 PPV down!!!

  • mjdes Mike Desborough (@mjdes) reported from Stevenage District, England

Hi @virginmedia I have to wait 72 hours to speak to a manager about an issue. This is after 5 hours on the phone to you and only a manager can authorise what I need. Shocking considering the amount of money we pay you. We have no working broadband for a 2 key worker house

  • Moyraluton Moyra Campbell (@Moyraluton) reported from Luton, England

@virginmedia l have been on the ph for hours all week trying to get though to cancel my contract. I even tried to use the Chat box and no assistant helped me. Your customer service it terrible. I would never use or recommend you to any of my friends. Answer the phone ,

  • jasondflynn Jason Flynn 💙 (@jasondflynn) reported from Letchworth Garden City, England

@AdamDea29742908 @virginmedia But buying one between £50 and £200 will probably suit most and if it turns out it doesn’t solve your problems it hasn’t broken the bank. I went for an Asus one at about £120. Netgear is another strong brand. I had poor WiFi for years and it was a massive improvement. 2/2

  • Denton_james James Denton (pen) (@Denton_james) reported from Whaddon, England

@COOPSthereitis4 @virginmedia Virgin broadband is awful, cuts out all the time

  • UnknownSoul028 Unknown Soul (@UnknownSoul028) reported

@virginmedia I had called the team twice previously with no luck getting my issue sorted, called today again before I had to go to work and still don't have a time when my issue will be fixed. Waiting for yet another call between 4pm and 5:30pm today.

  • cheesycobdave Jay (@cheesycobdave) reported

@virginmedia Finally got through to someone. There is apparently a local fault, but your service checker says there isn't... expected fix time of 7pm so that's a days work up the shitter 👍

  • LewisRobboJr Lewis Robinson (@LewisRobboJr) reported

@virginmedia Last night and no, still speed up lag, still delays, still lagging, slow download speeds, slow upload speeds, slow overall.

  • crisp_les Les Crisp (@crisp_les) reported

@virginmedia At this stage I do not wish to talk about it on a public forum. I am seriously considering taking legal advice. The incompetence I have experienced is utterly astounding. If you truly wish to see if you can help, contact by private message please.

  • johndanielpalm1 JayDeePee (@johndanielpalm1) reported

@virginmedia Thanks for the reply. I don’t think it’s a service issue in my area but more of a peering issue. The hops from the router outbound appeared to be solid until it left virgins owned IPs. It seems to have calmed down now.

  • PorlyP Paul 🏡🗝⬇ (@PorlyP) reported

@virginmedia Not currently - I persevered with the helpline and a lady called Khyati helped find out the issue, amd an engineer is coming tomorrow. Thanks again for all the replies!

  • iPrettyouch prettyyp✿ (@iPrettyouch) reported

@virginmedia Yes login then jump onto mobile data and then it says theres seems to be no issue with service in yur area but there is an issue which is why i am on it ...i give up

  • ThisIsDAMO_ Damian🌐 (@ThisIsDAMO_) reported

@virginmedia hello, having issues with Virgin Hitron router no internet but no issues in my area. Can you assist please?

  • Oxford_Life In Oxford (@Oxford_Life) reported

@virginmedia As they should be, it's an idiotic way of #VirginMedia to deploy an upgrade to a system - I could upgrade my entire network at work to a new operating system, new firmware, new bios, etc, and still ensure no files were lost!

  • SavJadeUK Savannah-Jade (@SavJadeUK) reported

Completely ridiculous that I’m being charged £100 to cancel my @virginmedia contract because they don’t provide broadband at my new home👎🏼
