@virginmedia so after weeks of unbelievably poor broadband and customer service there was an offer from you to resolve the situation with a web chat at 11am, with a link being provided here. No link. I’m lost for words

Wow Virgin media TV services are down nationwide due to a power outage. That's an awful lot of compensation.

  • rrrussboy
Russell Norris (@rrrussboy) reported from Southend-on-Sea, England

@virginmedia I’ve spent over 2 hours on the phone and I lost count of people I’ve spoken to when I got to 12. That’s just today and this has gone on for weeks. Pretty sure you would’ve lost me as a very longstanding customer by the time 28 days is up.

  • GoonerGrizzly
grizzly_gooner (@GoonerGrizzly) reported from Thundersley, England

@virginmedia A number of times. But let’s be honest, they’re nothing but messengers. There is no escalation, and they can’t even call the construction company to escalate issues. As someone who has worked within many projects teams, and mapped business processes, yours is simply shocking

  • wonky1961
Penny Rolfe nee Acres (@wonky1961) reported from Southend-on-Sea, England

@virginmedia You are no longer my ISP due to your incompetence. Also there will be a lawsuit pending due to the fact I almost died from pneumonia with pulmonary oedema and sepsis later going into stage 2 respiratory failure. Your useless service is unacceptable.

  • KatiePurkiss
Katie Purkiss (@KatiePurkiss) reported from Southend-on-Sea, England

@virginmedia I’ve sorted the issue. But now there’s no way of cancelling the engineer! Can’t get through on phone. Appointment isn’t showing on their account, so can’t cancel there. WhatsApp is useless - been waiting for an Agent to be available since about 1pm!

@virginmedia what’s the point of asking me to text when I’m ready to set up the new hub if your going to deactivate the old one before I’m ready!! Good job I have unlimited data on my mobile network!!

  • JamieMeecham
Jamie Meecham🏳️‍🌈♥️ (@JamieMeecham) reported from Canvey Island, England

@virginmedia care to explain why a member of staff felt that hanging up on a customer complaining about their broadband is acceptable? And now I’m stuck on hold AGAIN to solve my issue.

  • jamesrfyoung
James Young (@jamesrfyoung) reported from Wickford, England

@virginmedia your internet has been rubbish recently with varying speeds as low as 5mb 1 minute then 95mb the next! Now it’s gone down completely! On top of not being able to speak with anyone I don’t feel that your service is worth it! #rubbishservice

  • rob_green86
Rob Green Jnr (@rob_green86) reported from Thundersley, England

@westbrookdanni @virginmedia Up to 2 weeks ago I didn't have a bad word to say about them. The pure fact you can't get through to someone is the worst of it. Happy to take your money and trim your internet speeds!

Sadly, the @horror_channel catchup service isn’t on @virginmedia , which is a total bummer.

@CliveR39 @virginmedia @Ofcom I lost tv service before the world cup started for 16 days, I was told I would recieve automatic compensation but didnt recieve any discount, had to raise a complaint and they told me they would offer £20 as goodwill gesture because I didn't have total loss of service.

@Dratcliffe1986 @virginmedia @ExeterBub You need to first register the outage through Virgin media itself. I do this everytime there is an outage. Virgin will usually then give you any compensation, if they don't, then report to Ofcom.

  • GazzaAdams
    Gary Adams (@GazzaAdams) reported

@virginmedia I need this escalated as a formal complaint regarding fault **F012421201**, because the information Virgin Media is providing has now become demonstrably contradictory. At **08:01 today, 20 August**, Virgin Media told me: “Our engineer is on site and they're working to fix the problem.” The estimated repair time given was **18:00 today**. At **15:27 today**, after I have been without service for most of the day, Virgin Media has now told me: “We have identified the problem and an engineer is on their way.” The estimated repair time has also been moved to **14:10 tomorrow, 21 August**. These statements cannot both accurately describe the progress of the same fault. An engineer who was already **on site and working on the problem at 08:01** cannot subsequently be **“on their way” at 15:27** without some explanation. I fully understand that a complex network fault may take longer to repair than initially anticipated, and that estimated restoration times can change. That is not my complaint. My complaint is that Virgin Media is repeatedly providing contradictory factual information about the status of the repair, while I remain without the service I am paying for. I consequently have no confidence in the estimated restoration times being provided. Please therefore: 1. **Log this as a formal complaint and provide me with the complaint reference.** 2. Confirm the actual current status of fault **F012421201**, rather than repeating the automated status information. 3. Explain how an engineer could be reported as on site and working at 08:01 but “on their way” at 15:27. 4. Confirm when the outage affecting my service officially began and that the full period of loss of service has been recorded against my account. 5. Confirm what automatic compensation I will be entitled to for the complete loss of service, where applicable. I have retained screenshots of the outage updates and their timestamps. Please respond to the specific points above rather than sending me another automated repair estimate.

@virginmedia @TheAFC0522 Here's the thing ! We don't want to use a ******* website or an app ! We have a thing called a TV !!!!! Get the ****** sorted or give back the money you're taking from people's bank accounts for a **** service !

  • GazzaAdams
    Gary Adams (@GazzaAdams) reported

@UKDan86 @virginmedia I have read the T&Cs, Dan. Working from home isn't the basis of my complaint — paying for a broadband service that's been repeatedly intermittent for four weeks is. Virgin Media themselves acknowledge an ongoing fault. Whether I use my connection for work, Netflix or watching cat videos is irrelevant to expecting the service I'm paying for to actually work.

  • BissellJane1
    Jane Bissell (@BissellJane1) reported

@virginmedia another day without any internet and impossible to get a refund I had 2 days last month without service but all your staff are interested in is trying to sell products I don’t want I’ve reduced all products due to cost of living but I’m still getting calls every day

@Ofcom.... Are Virgin Media in breach of contract for not supplying services as agreed, ie red button Sky Sports+? If so, are you going to do anything about it?? Can we cancel contract and or withhold payments?? If not, why not?
