Virgin Media Issues Reports Near Farnham, England

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Farnham and nearby locations:

  • pmross Paul Mackenzie Ross (@pmross) reported from Farnborough, England

@virginmedia Hi AR, I was given no time at all, only that there were ongoing issues the last two weeks then he said 7-10 days. He said you were working on it, it would be fixed but no timescale. 15 days of unreliable BB is awful. Have had 100% outages of up to 36 hours.

  • TheonlyJonesy Martyn Jones (@TheonlyJonesy) reported from Fleet, England

@virginmedia don’t worry about supplying a service that I can use to work from home, I’d much rather leave the house in a pandemic to access stable broadband...!!!

  • pmross Paul Mackenzie Ross (@pmross) reported from Farnborough, England

@sniveldirk @virginmedia Also it’s not reliable broadband. I’m suffering day 15 of anything but the 350MB connection I paid for. Right now it’s dead again. The lack of service forced me to have to work from an office today (again!) How unsafe is that?

  • paulineayres PaulineAyres-S/W (@paulineayres) reported from Blackwater, England

Omg @virginmedia the worse service you could possible get 😡

  • flyingjok John Neilson (@flyingjok) reported from Camberley, England

@virginmedia Still no landline service to home and neighbour similarly. It’s been close on 24hrs - pretty irritated that there is no information coming proactively from your team to be honest but appreciate the social team’s responsiveness to my contact

  • pmross Paul Mackenzie Ross (@pmross) reported from Farnborough, England

@GuseensLV @virginmedia Ah man, I’m with ya. 350MB here was fab until 16 days ago. Been “OK” today, had a relatively stable connection but it never crept over 10MB and that was if I was lucky *sigh*

  • pmross Paul Mackenzie Ross (@pmross) reported from Farnborough, England

Aargh. @VirginMedia broadband is down again, 20 mins here in GU14. That’s 13 days of poor service. I’m trying to WFH and daughter’s trying to do her homework online. This is infuriating.

  • BagshotTwit Paul Austin (@BagshotTwit) reported from Camberley, England

@virginmedia I upgraded to the Ultimate Oomph package in Jan but still waiting for the order to be completed. I’ve contacted customer services on numerous times but no success, I’ve also raised a complaint. How do I actually get some help to complete the order?

  • M_Coneley MissB (@M_Coneley) reported from Fernhurst, England

@virginmedia No it’s not an end of contract discount being removed, worrying if it was since the increase is just £4., it’s for investing in service improvement. The point I was making, which seems to have been missed, is the current service keeps failing & def not close to 99% reliable

  • pmross Paul Mackenzie Ross (@pmross) reported from Farnborough, England

@Binky_2301 @virginmedia The service was pretty reliable until now 19 days ago. Their status tool says no issues yet an engineer told me there were. And that they were fixing it. Been watching Twitter and it’s been an issue with folks all over the country.

  • elburgo john clark (@elburgo) reported from Liss, England

@SophieEB We gave up on #virginmedia very poor service

  • pmross Paul Mackenzie Ross (@pmross) reported from Farnborough, England

@SinghT2j @virginmedia It’s been down a good 3 days in the last 14 here. Otherwise it’s either slow or randomly intermittent. They really need to sort their network out, it was never this bad until 2 weeks ago.

  • flyingjok John Neilson (@flyingjok) reported from Camberley, England

@virginmedia Your web site is not very helpful really - apparently the fault will be rectified by 08.40 this morning. Understand technical problems arise but it’s surely much better to provide proactive updates rather than to react in receipt of complaints?

  • pmross Paul Mackenzie Ross (@pmross) reported from Farnborough, England

Dear diary, day 16 of poor/zero broadband. I called @VirginMedia, joined a queue, cooked, served & ate dinner, started watching The Simpsons then after 48 minutes of Jake Bugg and some other repetitive on-hold phone entertainment, they cut me off!

  • flyingjok John Neilson (@flyingjok) reported from Camberley, England

@virginmedia Thanks for getting the internet sorted but any reason why there is still no phone service or any information to explain?

  • wmatthew Will Matthews (@wmatthew) reported from Fleet, England

@virginmedia is there a bandwidth issue in the network? I’m in Fleet, Hampshire #patchy #slow

  • WakeFireplaces Wakeford Fireplaces (@WakeFireplaces) reported from Send, England

@virginmedia Getting a new/replacement Hub, existing one keeps turning off/resetting. Call lasted 50 mins, 6-7 mins was chatting to someone, until put on hold again. Gave up.... shocking service!!

  • paulineayres PaulineAyres-S/W (@paulineayres) reported from Blackwater, England

@virginmedia I have to wait until Monday for an engineer to come and fix whatever the problem is but never ever had a good connection and made many complains

  • paulineayres PaulineAyres-S/W (@paulineayres) reported from Blackwater, England

@virginmedia Have to wait until Monday until an engineer can come out to fix whatever the problem is, I have never ever had a good connection, made many complaints but this is the worse ever. Intermittence connections causing me to need another @SlimmingWorld consultant to cover my groups 💔

  • pmross Paul Mackenzie Ross (@pmross) reported from Farnborough, England

@virginmedia Called yesterday PM: engineer tested the line, said there were network issues despite status page saying to the contrary. Was told you were fixing the issue but today is day 15 and no BB since ~15:30 yesterday. I have to go to the office, no choice. Poor/no BB = risk my health 🙁

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • liamtg Liam (@liamtg) reported

@virginmedia wow, waiting since 5pm yesterday for CS on WhatsApp. Live chat just as bad. I need some boosters, I didn't get one with my new volt package. Connect app days I need some but won't let me order

  • tom_bacon Tom Bacon (@tom_bacon) reported

@virginmedia It can only see an issue with one unrelated wireless device. The computer I'm testing with is a wired connection.

  • nathan18410011 nathan (@nathan18410011) reported

@virginmedia why ******** is my internet not working again I’ve checked my service status it’s fine but I’m sick to death or pay for a ****** broadband service get it sorted coz I’ve had enough!!! 😡😡😡

  • ShamingTrue ✿ ShamingTrue ✿ (@ShamingTrue) reported

@virginmedia Discussing this with your 'customer services' team is like Groundhog Day! I have to explain the issue over and over again. I get the same excuses followed by no action, with the whole thing repeating ad nauseum. Sky Glass is looking more and more appealing every day.

  • LeonardSaunde19 Leonard.Saunders (@LeonardSaunde19) reported

@virginmedia I am trying to find out why I have not received my new equipment and given crap service now been passed to faults I really need a senior manager to call me so as to resolve this or I will leave Virgin Media for another supplier

  • thewascal wascal (@thewascal) reported

@virginmedia Sick, can’t wait to be on hold for 80 mins then not have my call logged. Any chance you can just log a complaint?

  • SpaceForecaster Neel Savani (@SpaceForecaster) reported

@virginmedia I have tried several times on the phone - this does not work as the waiting lines are more than 3 hours every time and then the employee hangsup on me - have now also been on whatsapp for over 24 hours - please call me or provide a way I can cancel in writing via email

  • ClaireHamlet Dr Claire Hamlet (@ClaireHamlet) reported

@virginmedia I have spent the last week trying to get through to cancel my broadband. I have moved and have a different provider. Tried chat, texting, WhatsApp and have still not managed to speak to a human. Last resort is Twitter it seems 🙈

  • SpaceForecaster Neel Savani (@SpaceForecaster) reported

@virginmedia At this point, I wish to leave Virgin. My contract has ended and I no longer interested in being past over to relation manager that ignores me and attempts to upsell. How do I actually cancel my contract? Else, I will simply delete my direct debit if I am not provided steps fwd

  • AndrewDez91 SandDancer™️ (@AndrewDez91) reported

@virginmedia Both, although wired is not as bad of a loss as the wireless. It peaks and troughs, which I know is considered normal but the troughs or low points are unusable.
