@lastdart @virginmedia I am with you on this one. They may have me over a barrel right now but when this is all over and normal service is resolved they can say farewell to this customer. If this is the way they treat loyal customer then #SirRichardBranson is in for a big expensive shock.

I’ve had to write this as I think the virgin media wireless hub is rubbish, since lockdown I’ve had to reset my router several times a day as we keep losing signal, to the point I’ve gone out and bought my own router and I’m now using modem mode, please fix your rubbish routers!!

@dgrutsch @virginmedia @SkyMediaUK @virginmedia has lost direction and customer focus IMO. After trying to tell me there was no fault in my area, before agreeing for an engineer to visit and check system (multiple faults) it proposed sending a pack of cables for me to try and fix myself. Err I don’t think so!

@_shannonC @virginmedia Ah ok, so your max upload was 1 when it was broken? My issue does seem different then, if I upload to YouTube it'll be 20 up, but then dip to 1 up a few times in a minute. Probably packet loss that is rectifying itself. But with twitch, any large packet loss can't be fixed

Xen Mint
(@XenMint) reported
Virgin media are increasing their charges by the rate of inflation PLUS 3.9%. And they'll do the same every year going forwards. Even if inflation is ZERO, they'll still increase it by 3.9%. That means your income has to increase by inflation+3.9% to NOT become poorer. **** Off.

@virginmedia Sorry, i already made 3 calls, ended up in more mess. Can't even cancel the contract without calling 'agent' and going through sales pitch! If you are true to your word, just revert back to what was before this NEW contract pushed on me! I will have time and choice to decide.
-
cari_lou
(@swlondonraised) reported
@virginmedia From 1st April 2023 the monthly price of your calls, texts and data will go up by 17.3%, in line with the Retail Price Index inflation of 13.4%, plus 3.9%... Is this a joke I'm cancelling all of my 4 contracts what are we paying for? The network is **** anyway 😒

@virginmedia I ran your checker several times. It says everything is working, & your employees stick to that script, even though others in area also report issues, as do 3rd party monitoring websites. I would suggest your checking tools dont work properly. 3days now with intermittent service

@Brudenell @virginmedia @Ofcom I’ve just spoken to an incredibly helpful lady from VM on the phone. Sadly, she confirmed that these terms are becoming the industry standard over the next 12 months. Today’s experience confirmed my decision to cancel my agreement with them. At least I know what I am signing up

@virginmedia With the new price increases (I was shocked at the RPI plus 3.9% every year) I do hope @virginmedia invests in growing its customer service team and improving access to it. It has been extremely painful getting anyone apart from you (LS) to even speak to me about this.
-
Deppresso
(@Deppresso) reported
@_shannonC @virginmedia That's an interesting problem, virgin said they removed traffic mitigation practices like throttling years ago but I specifically had an issue where using half of my upload for more than an hour dropped my speeds to 50% of their maximum until the next day.
-
RJ Brudenell

@mcarbl @virginmedia Salt. Well, they're clearly injecting that hard earned cash into customer relations.

@Deppresso @virginmedia yeah my upload speed is maximum 2 when it’s down, but often it’s below 1. usual upload is 30 so i can’t stream or anything when it’s down
