Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Dunfermline and nearby locations:
-
Alli (@Alli3Fifer) reported from Kirkcaldy, Scotland@virginmedia Quite simply No. They are in mid 70s and tbh we just need the issue fixed. Mum is awaiting a call from the hospital & is concerned and stressed they won’t be able to get her as she hasn’t had use of the number she is has had since 1989 for over a week!! My Dad is just stressed
-
Philippa Wright (@philippawrightt) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia Read my tweet. I have been sent a “resolution” already. Which advised to return the box/speak to online chat if further issues. As I have pointed out multiple times I have already returned the box. This is absolutely infuriating at this point.
-
Spike (@Spike61987764) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia what is going on? No television or broadband from 550pm Thursday the 30th of June. Estimated fix was 3am 1st of July. Guess what? Still nothing. Now estimate is 12pm today. Aye thats no happening. What time will the service I'm paying for be back online?
-
James Smith 🏴🇮🇹🇿🇦 (@SobukweScozia) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia BTW. It’s not an ‘intermittent’ issue - I’ve had no service at all for 18 hours, and what exactly does ‘taking us a little longer than usual’ to fix actually mean?
-
Paul Collier (@welshref) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia how the hell do I get any sense from you guys? Eight days spent just trying to get an account sorted 🤬 your customer service is non-existent
-
victoria carolina (@vcash78) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia I am on the phone right now and like I’ve said. The service I am receiving is disgusting. 40 minutes call and to be told that in a #CostOfLivingCrisis you want £650+ to disconnect a service. Must’ve been robbers you merged with as this is criminal behaviour.
-
Viv Haig (@vivhaig) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia Yes I’ve done all of that and my phone is saying ‘Check phone line’. My land line has been off since last Friday. Ever since it was swapped over to your fibre network and the new adapter fitted to the back of the router. I’m paying for a service I’m not receiving.
-
Philippa Wright (@philippawrightt) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia Sorry? Like my formal complaint - I’m unsure if you have read my tweet? I bought a box and returned the WiFi myself. Ombudsman time?
-
Patrick McCarthy (@PatMcCarthy37) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia Neither of these things have happened. The last person on the help desk that I spoke to denied that the account was associated with my VM account and did not want to talk to me. Nothing happens when the Help Desk can't sort it themselves Please deal with this.
-
Acky (@lexo6647) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia We have tried to problem solve ourselves and need help. A replacement box or an engineer, not a link to a forum. Do you have a link to a customer complaints department? Maybe I will get somewhere with them.
-
Acky (@lexo6647) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia the problem is now being dealt with and will need repair. Thanks for the help again although it shouldn’t be so difficult. Pensioners don’t have the knowledge to do what I had to do for my dad
-
Tullia (@thelifeoftul) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@ScottM083 @virginmedia If that’s the case then Virgin need to communicate this to their customers as the lack of communication is doing more damage than the lack of wifi at this point! 🙈

James Smith 🏴🇮🇹🇿🇦 (@SobukweScozia) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia I have now had no service - internet, tv, phone - for 24 hours. It’s impossible to speak with someone about this. There is only a vague automated message about a ‘complicated problem’. How can I get this fixed? What are you doing to address this?
-
Laura Barbour (@dreamingisfree) reported from Bo’ness, Scotlandservice agent who tells me an appointment is scheduled for the 15th November. Shall I laugh or scream? 7 weeks with no WiFi? @virginmedia (2)
-
James Smith 🏴🇮🇹🇿🇦 (@SobukweScozia) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia If I phone there is a message saying there is a complex fault. The online fault tracker says there isn’t. Hard really to understand what the problem is and when and how it will be fixed. Still no service at all. Not impressed.
-
Radhamanalan (@happymaan) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia I checked.. No issues in my area!
-
Louise Hamilton (@louham74) reported from Grangemouth, Scotland@virginmedia your customer service is shocking! A sure way to loose customers 🤬🤬🤬
-
John M Hunt (@Johnmhunt) reported from Oxgangs, Scotland@virginmedia hi I’m aware there’s a calling issue just now on Virgin Mobile but I was wondering how to get an upgraded 5G SIM on ultimate Oomph as the one we have is only allowing 4G.
-
Peter Tuffy (@bigtoodle) reported from Edinburgh, Scotland@virginmedia I can hear a band playing a tune but it will not be to my benefit. I phoned today about being overcharged obviously the call handler was so inept she cut me off rather than fix it. But she did get in the fact that this terrible service was going up by 20% next month.

entrustTMF (@entrustTMF) reported@virginmedia Seems fair comment-they aren't sensible! Googled "how effective making complaints to @virginmedia is" and came up with some very negative feedback culminating in: "customer feedback AND regulatory data suggest their handling of complaints is often seen as inadequate" Oh dear🙁
-
Paul Matthews (@Pmatthews123) reported@virginmedia Yes and told the same as it’s all in 1 package I can’t cancel Tv part and keep the BB until sky sort it out which is after my end date and therefore I will be charged inflated price- all I want is to cancel TV and until switch happens keep the BB surely VM can do this
-
Martinayres65@outloo (@Martinayres65o1) reported@virginmedia it’s now been an hour since the promised call from you. Given we have been without broadband & TV since Friday I would have thought you would make it a priority. Seems Virgin doesn’t care about its customers. Happy to take money whilst delivering no service
-
Marshall Burns (@hzBUpYOUrdy1gWR) reportedTired of paying for multiple subscriptions like Sky, BT Sport, Virgin Media, Now TV, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Apple TV+? I have got the solution. This IPTV @8k_StreamX offers: • 300,000+ live channels • 65,000+ VODs • PPV events • Netflix • 78,000+ movies
-
CMDR Andy Fireblade Muza (@andymuza) reported@virginmedia why is it when a contract ends you remove all previous offers instead of automatically giving the loyal customer the best offer you can do? Also why don't you contact the customer about it instead of just increasing their price by a large amount. What a joke.
-
Rebecca Ryder 💙 (@rebecca_ryder21) reported@virginmedia we have been trying to call you for ages but it keeps saying wrong number when they answer the phone and after we put in all the details. Please help.
-
Debs 😇 (@debbym) reported@virginmedia I have been a customer for over 20 years and been told today that my monthly bill will go from £141 to £213 when my current contract expires in May. I don’t know how you get away with such an increase for loyal customers. I shall NOT be renewing my contract 🤬
-
Steve (@TykeSteve) reported@keithapearson @virginmedia That must be for the orange idiot??
-
Flip Flop (@flop_flip60295) reported@virginmedia getting 100mb a second on your gigabyte package and was told there was issues. Was escalated to the complaints team who advised nothing is wrong! Shocking customer service even when it was acknowledged its nowhere near what im paying for
-
BH (@Welshyyyyy) reported@keithapearson @virginmedia Couldn't agree more, awful company to deal with
