@virginmedia Considering my router is a 1gbps it shouldn't be an issue. However even with wired it'll vary between 15mbps and 110mbps. However our average over a month is 53.6mbps, which is less than half the speed we pay for 😳.

@virginmedia LS, I have and do regularly when ever it seems slow. It varies from 12mbps download to a maximum of 110mbps. However the monthly average is under 60mbps. Which falls well short of my guaranteed speed.

@johntweedie @frednfrank I've switched the router to Modem to get the signal to the 2nd floor loft. Allied to the self installed mesh network, that works well. The signal isn't now the issue. Being without services from @virginmedia 3 times in just over a week, is.

@virginmedia Yeah, I've done all that (I'm a techy) it's why it's in modem mode and replaced with a capable router. The issue isnt the equipment it's the connection. Without the hub3 I can run upto 900Mbps download and 240mbps upload.

@virginmedia I have your smart hub 3, or as I like to call it the dumb dumb 3000. (It's struggles to broadcast a decent connection around a 2 bed flat, so it's been banished to modem mode. (Honestly, it's the worst router ive ever dealt with) 😳

@johntweedie @frednfrank @virginmedia It may be 30 years old. Strangely, with BT (Cable), Sky (wired), never had issues.

@virginmedia That doesn't tell me anything. Just that the engineers ".. are working hard to fix it....." The service has been down since 7 last night. And no idea when it will be fixed. With zero redress after 4 incidents in a little over a week. Poor.

@virginmedia There was not. The advice given was that the fault was open. No idea when it started. No ETA on a fix. I was told to pin reset my hub and see if it helped. That was it.

@virginmedia I am in discussions with your complaints dept. After no resolve on Monday i was told the next stage was a manager calling me within 72 hours. No call received as yet. I would expect the service to improve marginally at complaint level but sadly not.

@virginmedia I need technical support or preferably an engineer to visit the property to fix the issue, I have been trying for hours today with no joy. I am on the top speed so I thought my custom would be more valued than trying to charge me extra to resolve the problem
-
Paper Rifles

@virginmedia Unless the improvement is a new router, I’m not sure there’s much that can be done there. The signal drops when I am within a metre of the router, and the tv is hardwired into the router and drops too.
