@mouthwaite @virginmedia They are shite!!! We have had the same issue since March last year! Up and down like a yo-yo!!

  • Alec2306 Alec Clapperton (@Alec2306) reported from Andover, England

@virginmedia I have done all of this multiple times and nothing has come up. Today has been particularly bad where I lose signal every 5 minutes. I don’t need to keep doing the troubleshooting steps, I need a new router or an engineer

  • jasonkneen Jason Kneen (@jasonkneen) reported from Ludgershall, England

@virginmedia and just like that, 522 and 0.73mbps again. How do I book an engineer @virginmedia? — I’ve done all the checks; rebooted my network; the hub, I’ve tested on multiple devices WiFi, Wired; direct from the hub and the problem remains — drop outs, poor upload speeds.

  • jasonkneen Jason Kneen (@jasonkneen) reported from Ludgershall, England

@Vyvyan_punk @virginmedia yep — bouncing around here on M500 plan — 500+ down and jumps between 0.59 and 28mbps up. Zero help from @virginmedia apart from running speedtests

  • HuntleyBenjamin Ben Huntley (@HuntleyBenjamin) reported from Andover, England

Virgin media has to be the worst internet provider I’ve ever had the trouble to experience

  • thedonzuco Dan Zuco O'Brien (@thedonzuco) reported from Andover, England

I can count on @virginmedia internet to go down daily now. How can it be constantly so bad?

  • Duckocide Duckocide Games (@Duckocide) reported from Andover, England

@virginmedia So I'm told after speaking to you. Not seeing it on service page though. Agent said there was network issue.

  • jasonkneen Jason Kneen (@jasonkneen) reported from Ludgershall, England

@TomMockridgeVM, Been a @virginmedia customer for 7 years — now on the M500 package and paying a hefty fee per month for broadband, phone and TV. Have had shocking upload speeds today (0.5mbps instead of 38mbps). Status page says fine — run test says not. Thread 1/3

  • jasonkneen Jason Kneen (@jasonkneen) reported from Ludgershall, England

@virginmedia OK — you need to do better at this — I shouldn’t be wasting my time telling you there is a problem — you should know this before I do and tell me without going through tests — it’s clearly affecting multiple users

  • jenniferlisaa jb (@jenniferlisaa) reported from Andover, England

actually exhausted trying to deal with @virginmedia... awful awful awful! next stop, the ombudsman!

  • Duckocide Duckocide Games (@Duckocide) reported from Andover, England

@thedarkfenix @virginmedia I hope so. I really rely on the service now.

  • Duckocide Duckocide Games (@Duckocide) reported from Andover, England

@virginmedia Yeah. Done all that a number times. I've spoken to tech support. Awaiting an engineer call. I'll leave this conversation here. Appreciate your attention but running those tests will just get me to the book an appointment or thrown out. I've run them a lot. Thanks. Ttfn

  • jasonkneen Jason Kneen (@jasonkneen) reported from Ludgershall, England

@virginmedia Not for a while — you’re not seriously telling me to “turn it off and on again” ? Can’t you check if there are any issues in the area?

  • jasonkneen Jason Kneen (@jasonkneen) reported from Ludgershall, England

@virginmedia and again today — 538 down and 1 up — need to know what’s going on here — you are killing my ability to work.

  • jasonkneen Jason Kneen (@jasonkneen) reported from Ludgershall, England

@virginmedia jesus christ, I’m going around in circles on your instant chat — logged in yet having to confirm my name and all my details, can you stop using these annoying bots that do nothing to help? Wasting so much time.

  • BrainTumourSurg Paul Grundy (@BrainTumourSurg) reported from Winchester, England

Thanks to @virginmedia they install new broadband which worked for about 5 minutes. Now nothing. Follow all instructions to fix. Waited 5 hours this morning for the privilege and now 1 hour on phone still on hold Should have paid attention to the terrible reviews #wastedmyday 🤬

  • Duckocide Duckocide Games (@Duckocide) reported from Andover, England

@virginmedia So I'm told after speaking to you. But seeing it on service page though.

  • Duckocide Duckocide Games (@Duckocide) reported from Andover, England

@virginmedia Still not working. About to phone

  • Alec2306 Alec Clapperton (@Alec2306) reported from Andover, England

@virginmedia I have been constantly looking at the site and it keeps telling me there are no issues. It only appears to be WiFi that is an issue

  • mjam1978 Morgan Jamison (@mjam1978) reported from Andover, England

@virginmedia Hi John Thank you for offering to assist. Internet is no better. Unstable and keeps dropping out cannot work from home as it cannot keep up with demands nor can my son effectively work online for school. Service in 2021 as poor as it was throughout 2020 🙄

Virgin Media Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • damawa42 Daniel W (@damawa42) reported

@ciano_ire @virginmedia ThinkBroadband's Broadband Quality Monitor. It pings your IP to record stats. Might take some techie fiddling to set up but well worth it, as it seems to be the only 'proof' of bad service that Virgin will listen to. If the whole country used it Virgin would be forced to improve.

  • Moby_Spurs ⚽️Moby~Spurs⚽️ (@Moby_Spurs) reported

@RazzaRainbow @NomadSpurs @virginmedia Umm, no! It’s a contractual term for the amount of houses on that exchange ‘sharing’ the broadband before it comes down the wire, into the house, and converted into Wi-Fi. For example, a 20:1 contention ratio means you are pooled with 19 other properties. 50:1, 100:1 etc

  • RazzaRainbow Agent Smith.🇮🇪 (@RazzaRainbow) reported

@Moby_Spurs @NomadSpurs @virginmedia I piggy back from my landlords router 50 metres away . If i walk in front of the tv the signal can stall out.

  • GorillaDrops GorillaDrops (@GorillaDrops) reported

@BelfastLive Now if @virginmedia could work in Belfast without cutting out constantly, that would be great. It wouldn't be so bad if, every time you call they didn't lie and say "Engineers are in your area" What, for a year? That's some overtime them boys are clocking up!

  • Velvetlotus1381 Emma Louise Bruce (@Velvetlotus1381) reported

@virginmedia If I cannot block the content or the app, the next solution is to cancel the service!

  • rogerhturner Roger Turner (@rogerhturner) reported

@jdpoc I bet she pays for Sky or Virginmedia and gets all those channels plus hundreds of others she never looks at. These are therefore on here logic a total waste of money. What a plonker.

  • DaveP2611 AbandonedTrolley (@DaveP2611) reported

@NomadSpurs @virginmedia Ergh people.... WiFi or Speeds. I assume there is nothing wrong with the WiFi and you're connected just fine. Or if you have actual issues connecting to your router than do a channel sweep, could be congestion. Either way, invest in a mesh system for better coverage and speeds

  • EdwinVanHutch Tom Hutchings (@EdwinVanHutch) reported

@virginmedia Your company’s lack of action to accept and solve the issues is appalling, and as for compensation for services that are simply unusable, it’s a joke. I pay £130 to you for a service that is absolute rubbish.

  • mallis_paul Paul Mallis (@mallis_paul) reported

@virginmedia Yes but we called to cancel in December to be told we could not cancel until 2nd of Jan. When did call back on the 2nd we were told we should have cancelled at the beginning of December. You agent confirmed that we were informed incorrectly on when to cancel

  • GingerGamerGuy_ Ginge (@GingerGamerGuy_) reported

@virginmedia I haven't yet as I'm still currently at work, got bounced about all day saturday and Sunday over text service but I'll call up once I've finished work at mid day
