  • DaveyDonn Davey Donnelly (@DaveyDonn) reported from Dublin City, Leinster

The actual hack of Irish TV at the moment. Bridget and Eamon on RTE and the laughably appalling Darklands on Virgin Media. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything as hideously bad on Irish Television.

  • pmobsligo Peter (@pmobsligo) reported from Dublin City, Leinster

@p_burnzzz @pauldonaldillon @irishfabian @NUJofficial @rte Agree - if they were all removed RTE would still have financial issues. If it’s like the rest of the public sector, salaries are probably 40% higher than equivalents in Virgin Media, Communicorp, etc.

  • TimOlton Tim Olton (@TimOlton) reported from Dublin City, Leinster

@tumsh21 @virginmedia Terrible mate! Brought the service to Musselburgh and I’ve not heard anyone saying they are satisfied. Biggest complaint has been around customer service. Sales answer calls in 2 mins. Customer service 45 + mins

  • vickyshilling Vicky (@vickyshilling) reported from Fingal County, Leinster

@simonrim @virginmedia You wait for the actual service and dealing with support when you get cut off unexpectedly! Worst mistake I ever made going with them, ended up with no service for a month and eventually changed provider for half the price and more reliable.

  • arrivalists Patrick M Barrett ™️ (@arrivalists) reported from Dublin City, Leinster

And pricks of the day award goes to @virginmedia . 89 Year old mother forgot to pay her bill , €30 over the Christmas. Dad 93 was in hospital for a Hip replacement, so bills understandably forgotten you'd think . Nah , the world we live in and Virgin media cut the Service.

  • NiamhMurtagh88 Niamh Murtagh (@NiamhMurtagh88) reported from Dublin City, Leinster

Poor @ZaraKing seems to have drawn the short straw on Virgin Media News this afternoon! I hope that was a Penney’s beanie hat 🙈 #StormBrendan

  • brianocofaigh Brian Coffey (@brianocofaigh) reported from Dublin City, Leinster

I will never, as long as I live, use Virgin Media or indeed anything related to that horrible brand. Have been treated appallingly by Virgin Media Ireland. Cancelled a service of theirs only to be billed for 3 successive months *and* receive a threatening letter.

  • Peighyighypt Alvi ishmael (@Peighyighypt) reported

@virginmedia please can you provide a detailed example and timescale of what "the complaints team will be working towards resolving your complaint" looks like? I hope I don't have to wait another 2 months for me to proactively get in touch with someone

  • SteveBreave someone random (@SteveBreave) reported

@virginmedia It's a text. The last time I was here you sent me to some weird messaging service that did nothing. Was you expecting me to leave it open on my laptop for days?

  • lsquires11 l@squires (@lsquires11) reported

@virginmedia I have had nothing but issues with your broadband for the past 3 weeks. Waiting an hour to speak to some and was advised that a engineer would take a week to come out. Internet out again today and you have a message on your lines saying you are too busy and it cuts off. Shocking

  • pm_gordon Peter Michael Gordon (@pm_gordon) reported

@virginmedia please can you help me in my efforts to speak to someone in broadband customer services - I'm yet to receive a response to a complaint I submitted on 7 Jan, and am now stuck in a loop between your online FAQ and your automated call service telling me to reboot my kit

  • heathoshea Heather O'Shea (@heathoshea) reported

@virginmedia @LadyCool31 These are all useless though. Get cut off on phone line, and text/chatbot functions go around in a circle with no call back from an agent. Tried to cancel since 26 Jan and STILL getting auto messages about installation on 8 Feb which will be a waste of everyone's time.

  • kanegoswell Kane (@kanegoswell) reported

Love being on hold with virgin media for 47 minutes for someone to then answer and hang up immediately. Happens every time.

  • duklaprm paul macready (@duklaprm) reported

@virginmedia Phone the number select broadband issue..just wants to run a test. I want to speak to someone. Phone again selected cancellation line. Hold for 20 minutes and call ends. Hopeless. Will be phoning @SkyUK. Hope they can help pay any fees as moving is the only option

  • _akaur anu (@_akaur) reported

@virginmedia well, when i ring all i get is a response along the lines of “we’re busy please ring back later” and then u cut the phone there also seems to be quite a bit of a waiting time for the msging service

  • jmsgrn James Green (@jmsgrn) reported

@virginmedia No Internet at our house in wandsworth for over 2 weeks! Absolute joke! Text to be told it will be fixed by the 8th Feb after previous texts saying 1st Feb. Zero empathy or understanding when you do eventually speak to someone in "customer services". Complete shambles!

  • jumpsystems David Raison (@jumpsystems) reported

I’ve just spent an hour on the phone to @virginmedia trying to negotiate a better deal. That’s probably used up all my free calls! Shocking service; I really should have left. #nexttimeileave
