Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Ryton and nearby locations:

  • fredspoon pipkins (@fredspoon) reported from Chester-le-Street, England

@DMcCSE17 @virginmedia All phone signal in London is terrible including public Wi-fi. I love when I come back to north east for a decent signal and decent Wi-fi speed :)

  • kicka11 ⚕ ᑕᕼᖇIS ⚕ (@kicka11) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@virginmedia Media service. I waited 30 mins to speak to someone, after selecting an electronic option to cancel. "I'm not authorised to cancel". Now back on hold. Virgin has the worst customer service of any company I've interacted with. It's insane.

  • kicka11 ⚕ ᑕᕼᖇIS ⚕ (@kicka11) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@virginmedia can you please advise how I can easily cancel my service ASAP. It's (deliberately) impossible to contact your company by phone.

  • tenaka66 Paul 'The View' Carver (@tenaka66) reported from Cramlington, England

    @virginmedia poor service

  • mickeywhizz Michael Taylor (@mickeywhizz) reported from Newburn, England

@virginmedia This has never been suggested before; you’ve been quite happy just to take the money and then hit me with an annual increase way above inflation. I’ve spoken to customer services on a couple of times in the last couple of months, and the offers have been quite frankly insulting.

  • jameshedges4 James Robert Hedges (@jameshedges4) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@virginmedia I need someone to contact me immediately as I need to make a serious complaint about service. Completely ready to escalate to higher management as this incompetence of this company is a disgrace

  • ThunderbirdWPC Tracey Ainsley (@ThunderbirdWPC) reported from Whickham, England

@virginmedia Tried to pm you but won’t let me. Someone coming Wednesday now to sort problem

  • LiamCottam Liam A Cottam (@LiamCottam) reported from Hebburn, England

@virginmedia Everyone was fine (eventually). The feedback is simple. If I can self serve setting up and managing my account I should be able to self serve cancel.

  • kicka11 ⚕ ᑕᕼᖇIS ⚕ (@kicka11) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@virginmedia Worst broadband and cable provider of all time.

  • mickeywhizz Michael Taylor (@mickeywhizz) reported from Newburn, England

@virginmedia Media. I ditched the TV part of the bundle years ago, but am still currently paying £50.99 p/m for 150mb broadband and a phone we never use. Come September, when you increase it by another £3.50 it’ll have gone from £37 in Dec 16 to £54.49 - A ridiculous 47% INCREASE......

  • Jonnycushlow Jonathan Cushlow (@Jonnycushlow) reported from Gateshead, England

@virginmedia your broadband is garbage. Forever puttin the price up and your service gets worse #sky incoming

  • LeslieBrown953 Leslie Brown (@LeslieBrown953) reported from Hebburn, England

@virginmedia Disgusted at the speed of my broadband I am receiving. Signal very very slow. Paying for M50 broadband. Feel I am paying over the odds for what I am getting. But I already know your reply. Everything ok our side. Also received that the price is going up #ripoff

  • kicka11 ⚕ ᑕᕼᖇIS ⚕ (@kicka11) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@virginmedia Worst customer service I've ever encountered. On multiple occasions over several years. Rudeness and lack of knowledge being the main issues, along with the usual very long hold times.

  • mickeywhizz Michael Taylor (@mickeywhizz) reported from Newburn, England

@virginmedia Thanks for your help with this, but can you please refrain from using foreign call centres; it is incredibly frustrating trying to explain to someone that you’re unhappy about your bill, who interprets this as a technical problem.......

  • Tony_Hodson Tony Hodson #coach (@Tony_Hodson) reported from Ponteland, England

@virginmedia 1. Why the neighbour would not have the same issues when the ‘issue’ is your automated phone system is beyond my comprehension! 2. It is not a neighbours responsibility to resolve a phone issue for the bill payer. 3. Through an internal contact I now have an engineer visit bkd.

  • minkewales minkewales (@minkewales) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@Dabooka @skybiggerpic @virginmedia It was my second attempt to be fair. First time they reduced the price rise to £1.50 per month, then I rang back a few days later to cancel. Found a better deal elsewhere but price was the driver for wanting to leave. Lovely @virginmedia agent was able to help!

  • neosalad neosalad (@neosalad) reported from Walker Gate, England

@NatalieeeLoweee @virginmedia I had this issue. Got home from work to watch charity shield #MCILIV after avoiding the score and it was unwatchable because of the sound issues for me so I gave up. Will just watch #motd tonight instead. #nothappy

  • Stickings90 Graeme Stickings (@Stickings90) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@virginmedia what was my TiVo box meant to be updating. I woke in the night to find it on and the screen saying it was updating software, don't switch off. I rang 151 to find out, but the automatic system said there was an issue and sent a restart pulse 1/2

  • Janthebestmam Janice (@Janthebestmam) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@virginmedia its for my broad band service

  • Selwynsaint Selwyn St.Bernard🇹🇹🇬🇩 (@Selwynsaint) reported from Longbenton, England

If @virginmedia offer you a 6 month free upgrade do not accept it. It is a way of locking you into a further contract. Poor service as always

@virginmedia It drops really low and then sumtime a cuts out, we’ve had loads off problems with it the last couple off weeks

  • grimsbymike Mike Day (@grimsbymike) reported

@virginmedia Can you ask Hetty to call me again please as the complaint is still not resolved. Spoke to someone yesterday who said he would explain to a colleague and they would sort. When I was put through the colleague (after 15 mins) had no idea and then cut me off.

  • Sleepyparadise Helen T (@Sleepyparadise) reported

@virginmedia No just that there has been an issue since February 10th at our local box but that is not what is affecting me. They did not install my internet correctly and now they won't fix it.

  • Disgusted_TW James M Isted (@Disgusted_TW) reported

@virginmedia without a doubt the worst call centre I've ever had the misfortune of having to deal with :(

  • jamescohu James Cohu (@jamescohu) reported

@Mr_Saurabh_Rana @virginmedia They’re literally copy and pasting answers now aren’t they? Possibly the worst customer service I’ve seen from a big company, this entire feed is a joke

  • Marty03724137 Marty (@Marty03724137) reported

@virginmedia please help , I want to end my contract with Virgin and my contract is out next month . Why is it so stressfully hard to do ! For a communications company you are a disgrace

  • simonecas Simone Castello (@simonecas) reported

.@virginmedia How can I email a query/complaint? Chat bot is driving me crazy.

  • PhilSkelly67 Phil Skelton (@PhilSkelly67) reported

Now unable to sign in to @virginmedia at all, how convenient that nobody can sign in to register a loss of service complaint. TV, Broadband and landline been down since 9am this morning. When I could sign in the expected "fix time" was 7.45 pm, again very convenient.

  • CarlDooley Carl (@CarlDooley) reported

@virginmedia So I have a contracted start date. You can’t meet it and your only solution is to leave your customer with nothing? No consideration to the current pandemic with people working from home and their livelihoods? Extremely, extremely poor. @Ofcom @Schuelel

  • Sanj99083115 Sanj (@Sanj99083115) reported

@virginmedia It doesn't connect. The hotspots are displayed, and tells you that it will automatically connect when it's near one. It doesn't matter how close I am it doesn't connect. However, looking at the Wi-Fi network list, a virgin media network is visable, and within range.
