Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Gateshead and nearby locations:

  • hylt64
Hilly Marshall (@hylt64) reported from Newcastle upon Tyne, England

@virginmedia The issue is I’m trying to cancel my services but I see how you keep customers as nobody will answer the phone to do this hence the reason nobody can leave I’ve now been on hold 1hr 14mins which is totally unacceptable

  • ZicoPete
Pete Irving (@ZicoPete) reported from Sunderland, England

@virginmedia No, tried 3 times on hold for 20 minutes then cut off by agents without saying a word. After checking other responses I can see this has been the issue either other customers.

  • maxinetennet74
Maxine Tennet (@maxinetennet74) reported from Walker Gate, England

What will it take for @virginmedia to actually sort out an account after a bereavement??? 3 months later, endless calls and empty promises. Continued anxiety and distress for an elderly woman is not the bereavement service I’d expect. Appalling.

  • SharBella72
Bella (@SharBella72) reported from Sunderland, England

@virginmedia internet is down, again in Sunderland area.

  • purplelime
Sam (@purplelime) reported from South Shields, England

@virginmedia I’m signed in but I see no option to test the landline. I clicked on ‘fix landline’ but that just sent me back to the main menu page.

  • NETheatreGuide
NETheatreGuide (@NETheatreGuide) reported from Ryton, England

@virginmedia You offer the same package to new customers at nearly £20 cheaper so it isn't the lowest price possible, is it? Spoke 18 months ago about signal. Was told it would be looked at if I agreed to renew. Once renewed was told WiFi is not guaranteed so tough.

  • P25_Fletch
Paul fletcher (@P25_Fletch) reported from South Shields, England

@virginmedia You’s really do make it almost impossible to cancel. I’ve called 5 times over 3 days. Either don’t get transferred or get cut off. Looks like I’ll try by writing a letter….

  • UnicornRunning
Paul Jukes A874036 (@UnicornRunning) reported from South Shields, England

@virginmedia The Hub is in modem mode connected to a separate wireless router as the Hub's WiFi has been poor since we got it, so technically it's a wired connection. Router's connection is lost when it drops so no devices can connect wirelessly. Has been stable for about 3 hours now.

  • allymcgeorge
Alvin TX Fernandez (@allymcgeorge) reported from Whitley Bay, England

@virginmedia hi I need to cancel an engineer appointment but clearly you've made this difficult to do. Any thoughts?

  • DJLKP
LKP - DJ / Vocalist (PSiMiTAR) (@DJLKP) reported from Whitley Bay, England

@virginmedia All on screen instructions followed, waited til I finished work today to check and it still doesn't get past 25% on the "searching for channels" page... Just taken the direct debit for a service which has been broken since 2.12.21...

  • pearceswan
David Pearce (@pearceswan) reported from Blaydon-on-Tyne, England

@virginmedia I spoke to them the other day they told me that you do not record any time when the broadband drops out only when a customer calls in so please can you get this sorted out thank you

  • vitosauras
🦦 Helen (@vitosauras) reported from Gateshead, England

**** off Virgin Media, useless bollocks

  • CazzaW
CazzaW (@CazzaW) reported from Walker Gate, England

Wakey wakey @virginmedia shoddy service not to update a LOT of the UK on broadband problems

  • ZicoPete
Pete Irving (@ZicoPete) reported from Sunderland, England

@virginmedia what channels do I need to go down for a stable connection check in my area, two days in a row internet keeps dropping not ideal when working from home. Thanks.

  • UnicornRunning
Paul Jukes A874036 (@UnicornRunning) reported from South Shields, England

@virginmedia Lots of people are complaining about this on the customer forums. We've had very little downtime since the separate router was connected, it's suddenly gone to pot and seems to be a general issue at the moment.

  • NETheatreGuide
NETheatreGuide (@NETheatreGuide) reported from Ryton, England

@virginmedia The signal struggles to get to each room in the house. My son complains as he games. No chance of streaming music in the bathroom. It isn't a big house either. The deal I'm on currently was negotiated when I spoke to disconnection team rather than intro offer.

  • Carl_Walsh33
Carl Walsh (@Carl_Walsh33) reported from Wallsend, England

@virginmedia I look forward to the money off the bill for the issues.

  • purplelime
Sam (@purplelime) reported from South Shields, England

@virginmedia No help needed, thanks - just praising the deal I was given last night 🙌

  • CraigSmartUN
Craig Smart 💙 (@CraigSmartUN) reported from Gateshead, England

@virginmedia trying to set up online account ready for install on Wednesday, verification email expired. Clicking send new email but no email is being sent so can’t verify email. Please help!

  • Carl_Walsh33
Carl Walsh (@Carl_Walsh33) reported from Wallsend, England

@jmstocka @virginmedia Has to be the worst app going. It regularly says this to me despite the 47 step verification

  • joanna_ayliffe
    Joanna Ayliffe (@joanna_ayliffe) reported

@virginmedia how do you manage to charge me for a service you barely provided but won't let me bill you £25 for an engineer who did not arrive between 8 and 12 on the day in question?

  • ape_steinUK
    Jackson Lamb’s Coat (@ape_steinUK) reported

@DeviateDefiant @virginmedia @MoneySupermkt Same here, I was paying £36 for 1GB, end of contract price is £82 and “best” renewal price is £42 IF I take an O2 sim for another fiver a month. Customer price: £26.99 a month. Crooks.

  • MrProcter
    MrProcter (@MrProcter) reported

@virginmedia Thank you. And maybe consider disabling it for World Cups, Christmas Day etc? No-one wants their telly to shut down because they've been watching it. I know you understand this. Thanks.

  • HoMcArdle
    Craig McArdle (@HoMcArdle) reported

@LutzSchueler How about just getting one service that works @virginmedia Profit over customers. No service + charging customers = instant profit. Well done you

  • DeviateDefiant
    R.L. MacMurray 🇬🇧 (@DeviateDefiant) reported

@DeviousPL @virginmedia @MoneySupermkt Yeah their C/S is absolutely atrocious, I'm basically 'grandfathered' into VM from when their network was the only way to get more than about 8mbit down. These days the DOCSIS/coax setup is vastly inferior to any OpenReach FTTP, with fibre directly to the socket.

  • daniel18921892
    Daniel (@daniel18921892) reported

@Simon_Whale @virginmedia Confused because they have literally stated they sent you a return pack? I’ve been with them for years and have never had an issue with them. Suppose it’s beucase I’m not a **** like you clearly are

  • Paul_Vine1
    Paul Vine (@Paul_Vine1) reported

@Simon_Whale @virginmedia Horrific company. So disappointed since we joined them in December. So many broken promises.

  • HonestJ89478453
    Honest John (@HonestJ89478453) reported

@EoinLenihan Virgin Media promoted by FFG without public consultation to status of a Public Broadcasting Co Should not be allowed on X to use an a/c when reporting on a news incident eg. Skerries brawl which denies the public to make comment When they allow only selected accounts reply

  • octoexp490
krono aka a dogtor in 2 years (@octoexp490) reported

@DeviateDefiant @virginmedia @MoneySupermkt Telecom contracts in this country don't make any sense to me. Anywhere else in the world, the more loyal you are to the operator, the better deals they give you to keep you as a customer.

  • sephiroth17181
    Seph (@sephiroth17181) reported

sick to death of @virginmedia and their ****** service and customer service... i pay £56 a month for internet and for the past 3 weeks it has become so intermittent i wouldnt even call it a connection, and they refuse to do anything about it "reboot router" STILL DONT WORK!!
