Well,the call centre man - who was very excited to tell me I was speaking to someone in Egypt - who told me Openreach was responsible was evidently mistaken. All fixed now - a shame as I've had full service from BT and Plusnet, but never outages like this. 3 days in 2 months.

My mum has been with them for 18years, due and upgrade for 3 years never told her and said she could not upgrade to a free handset unless she upped her bill. 18 years @VodafoneUK are an utter disgrace they really are. She is 74. Disgraceful
