  • tuite_liz
Liz Tuite (@tuite_liz) reported from Atherton, England

@virginmedia See thread above, nothing changes except the time of the estimated fix. It must be very localised as not everyone in my area is affected. So if it is damaged cables, I haven’t seen anyone out repairing them over the weekend, it’s a joke

  • NdawanaY
Ndawana Youngson (@NdawanaY) reported from Liverpool, England

@virginmedia They worked on it, or so I thought. I was told they fixed some external connections issue (outside the house)

  • Gary_Kilroy
Gary Kilroy (@Gary_Kilroy) reported from Liverpool, England

Having the choice of the awful customer service of @virginmedia or the @bt_uk network which in my area might as well be two tin cans tied together with string is great!

@virginmedia Thanks. Very frustrating and time consuming. Spent whole afternoon trying to sort it. Twitter not really the best way to resolve issues especially with an 82 year old.

@virginmedia Don't use this company its disgusting and disappointing the way they treat customers. Been trying to sort my contract out for 3 months now while they rob my money, create contracts that I've not agreed to and cancel complaints that I've raised.

  • tuite_liz
Liz Tuite (@tuite_liz) reported from Atherton, England

@virginmedia Could the problems in the area have caused damage to the equipment? As it was working fine before. Do I get compensation for all this time as the earliest appointment is Friday 14th?

Virgin Media Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • SerenitySoloDev
    Serenity Solo Studios (@SerenitySoloDev) reported

Virgin Media may have the best broadband speeds for me, but lying salesmen and Virgins policies really has me thinking about cancelling during this cooldown period. I was told 1000mbps was the maximum speed here. I found out it was 2000mbps. I tried to change as I was unaware of this at the time, due to what the saleman told me, but they wanted to charge me £88 per month or so for the 2gb package when the 1gb only costs £33 per month. Even though the website says £55 per month for the 2gb package. I then asked about the upload spped matching the download speed. At first, I was told this was a different package, not an addon, so it would cost £88 per month in total. What? I then threatened to leave and rejoin with a new package as I was in the cooling off period. I was then told this was an addon for £6 per month. They can't change anything on my package though apparently. It now has to be sent to another team to check through this and I have to wait 5-10 days. This is the most confusing company I have ever dealt with. When joining Sky, I could change my package at any time and still be given the in contract discount. Sky may have slower speeds, but @Virgin have to have to the worst policies that kind of makes me regret changing over. If they say I still have to pay almost triple the cost, I may just take the loss of the broadband speed and move back over to Sky. Virgin are trying to rip me off as their sales representative who came to the door and sold me the package never gave the full information to me and said 1gb was their highest package they had for my area.

  • Sheppo1874
    Ryan Sheppard (@Sheppo1874) reported

@alisonclay71 @virginmedia They’re the worst. I was a customer for over 10 years and moved house recently. They refused to move the service to my new house. Incredibly poor service. Also, be prepared for them to chase you constantly to return their kit or they’ll charge you for it!

@BingoBertie @RichardLXXII @virginmedia Worst advice ever!! This is not un agreed discounts will have ended

  • ads913
    keith addy (@ads913) reported

@virginmedia 20+ years a loyal customer, paying £128/month. New customers can sign up TODAY for the exact same package — Gig1 broadband, Mega TV, Sky Sports & Cinema — for £76.99/month. That's £51/month MORE for being loyal. Explain that. #VirginMedia #CustomerService

  • ads913
    keith addy (@ads913) reported

@virginmedia I understand they're introductory, but the gap is £51/month for the identical package. That's not a normal "new customer discount" that's a loyalty penalty. What can you actually offer me?

  • PeterOuld
Peter Ould (Deeper Magic / Before Dawn Time) (@PeterOuld) reported

Hey @virginmedia - I can't login to my account on a web browser. Keeps failing regardless of browser. The issue is definitely your end.
