Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Burton upon Trent and nearby locations:

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong You're right, it's not good enough... but it's not insecure either. I debunked 3 random words years ago. Now *that* is poor advice.

  • Neilelse1974 Neil else (@Neilelse1974) reported from Chellaston, England

@virginmedia That does not answer the question I spoke to your representative, ‘what is the best price for loyalty you can offer me for the bigger bundle ‘ can you please help me on this. Thanks

  • satyanimi satyan panchal (@satyanimi) reported from Coalville, England

@virginmedia It's so difficult speaking to customer care as they do not listen to your needs. I will need to cancel or downngrade to a price I can afford. Can't be hard can it. I am out of my 11 month contract and go anywhere if I don't get a reasonable offer to stay

  • timmo1963 Tim Moore (@timmo1963) reported from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, England

@MickHarkin8 @virginmedia Not true, £99 for my colleague at work, been a customer for over 10 years.

  • SketchXZ SketchXZ (@SketchXZ) reported from Burntwood, England

Sorry stream was cut short @virginmedia decided it was gna go down 🖕 #twitch #internetproblems

  • Gemgwar Gemma Brayne (@Gemgwar) reported from Armitage with Handsacre, England

@virginmedia really not impressed with your service. No idea what is going on and when I’m actually getting my broadband. Your team just keep lying to me and it’s frustrating!!

  • SummerfieldGabe Gabe (@SummerfieldGabe) reported from Lichfield, England

omg @virginmedia has the WORST customer service 😭🔫

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong The irony here is 3 random words can be broken in as little as 40 seconds, maximum 50 minutes. A 10 character random password, by comparison, would take 7 weeks with the same hardware.

  • ryau3 Ron Yau (@ryau3) reported from Repton, England

Writing this using O2 mobile network at home because my @virginmedia fibre is @unreliable. Cannot get to the internet or stream tv but on mobile data it was effortless. Considering going back to BT as they seem to be more consistent.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@kinoshitajona @ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Agreed, neither are secure and should never be used... however it's certainly possible to make an unbreakable MD5 password.

  • timmo1963 Tim Moore (@timmo1963) reported from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, England

@virginmedia Hi, thanks for the reply. I am an existing customer and I spoke to Glen on 150 earlier today. Still struggling to log on but just need my Virgin area code now and can’t find it.

  • ryau3 Ron Yau (@ryau3) reported from Repton, England

@virginmedia I am having the issue now where I cannot update my apps or use twitter through the Wi-fi. But I am streaming tv. @frustrated. Why do I suffer and stop to reboot the router and paying for unreliable service!!

  • timmo1963 Tim Moore (@timmo1963) reported from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, England

Hi @virginmedia just tried to take up the £99 ultimate oomph bundle only to be quoted £140!! Can’t log in when I try to purchase online help needed please 🤔

  • ubermodd spooky sad face 🙁🎃 (@ubermodd) reported from Lichfield, England

why is virgin media down though

  • bond_gary gary 'uk' bond (@bond_gary) reported from Hilton, England

@RockandRollSue @virginmedia I got rid my contract with virgin due to a bad reception, it took three months... each time I contacted them to cancel( when I could get through) they said it was all sorted, but they hadn’t done a thing, in the end I agreed to going pay as you go and just never used it again.

  • dazfuller Darren Fuller (@dazfuller) reported from West Hallam, England

@virginmedia And that information is exactly the problem and the thing which needs reviewing by your security teams. It's terrible advice!

  • ryau3 Ron Yau (@ryau3) reported from Repton, England

@virginmedia I have a hub 3.0 and showing white light. No change to the light with the issue.

  • satyanimi satyan panchal (@satyanimi) reported from Coalville, England

@virginmedia I will try once more otherwise yet another complaint Customer care will determine future business and future recommendations is something that seems to get ignored by Virgin.

  • ryau3 Ron Yau (@ryau3) reported from Repton, England

@virginmedia Reboot will help for a while but have to stop all in the family who still have signal for streaming radio, Xbox or watching Tv on the TiVo every time. How inconvenient is this for all due to a @unreliable service provided by @virginmedia. Had many other issues before as well...

  • timmo1963 Tim Moore (@timmo1963) reported from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, England

Well @virginmedia my TiVo box is stuck in starting up mode (2 hours) and needs a technician, not available until Tuesday. Piss poor service and your telephone manner leaves a lot to be desired. Waiting for you to get in touch 🤬

@virginmedia I want managerial focus as technical is not working

  • Haroon_NA Haroon (@Haroon_NA) reported

@virginmedia Is there someone I can email or call directly? The people on the phone don't seem to be much help. The advisor I spoke to today said she will send me final resolution letter and contact details for ombudsman through email but all she send was your complaint procedure guide.

  • Haroon_NA Haroon (@Haroon_NA) reported

@virginmedia @SnoopApp your advisor told me in email that virgin issue these vouchers but virgin are saying they don't and you are at fault. So who's at fault? Sorry it's a long thread.

  • AndiLDN50 Atomic Blonde (@AndiLDN50) reported

@virginmedia I have raised a complaint 3 times now about the rubbish Wi-Fi connectivity. Yet every time I go to track complaint there’s nothing attached to my account and no contact from yourselves. This is beyond exasperating

  • yongblah Aaron Yongblah (@yongblah) reported

Annoyed that while at work, my broadband has been down. In checking the status updates 'via the service provides site' all seems fine on the grid ? Can you clarify why it was down ? @virginmedia

  • ideaol @Ideaol (@ideaol) reported

@virginmedia I must upload a photo of their work because it really is unbelievable. For now I'll just say this cable is inside a green tube which has been put through a see-through 4 metre hedge, against customer's wishes. Customer Service? Aesthetics? @virginmedia

  • VvaderV Paul 'Sid' Pickford (@VvaderV) reported

@virginmedia I have tried it on 3 browsers with no luck. I have also called and your advisor couldn't help me. Your advisor said there is a technical issue and IT will call within 5-7 days! Not great service is it?

  • edgreenall Ed Greenall (@edgreenall) reported

Virgin Media are the worst company of all time. If you live in the UK and have had to deal with them, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Genuinely infuriating.

  • LauraParrott07 Laura Parrott (@LauraParrott07) reported

@virginmedia our wifi is terrible. Shocking. Your solution is to suggest we pay £8pm for a ‘pod’?!

  • ValMuddyman Val Muddyman Jewellery (@ValMuddyman) reported

@virginmedia I've checked and there's no issues in this area.
