@marmulades oh it's very tenuous if I'm honest. mostly about keeping the ipv6 of virgin media in ds-lite ipv6 w/o breaking PlayStation Network by subbing in some nice ipv4 connectivity from digiweb. pings / routes in inex are much better for digiweb so I wfh with it too

@Knibbsey @ruskin147 @virginmedia I was offered a first-generation Tivo box to test at home on behalf of the BBC in about 1998. I had already been a beta tester for the internet-connected PC at work and then at home. Sadly I got posted abroad and had to forgo my TV gadget treat. I finally bought one last year!

@ruskin147 @virginmedia For while we used EE data via mobile, only changed to Vodafone as the 4g signal in our area (rural) was better
-
David Morton
(@1DaveyMo) reported
@ruskin147 @virginmedia Can you receive your neighbours signal ? If they are on a BT openreach based service that might be best. Other than that three home broadband 4g or 5g have always been great for me I pay £14 a month for it as a backup but depends on coverage in your area.

@ruskin147 @virginmedia Well if you have a good signal from three 5G (big if tho) and an unlimited data plan, a phone hotspot is very capable these days

@ruskin147 @virginmedia When your contract comes to an end consider BT Halo, it will do the trick next time. EE MiFi backup bundled with BT fibre broadband in case it goes down.

@virginmedia I won’t be doing that because I’m leaving and have already joined BT. But a word of advice. Don’t make all the effort only once you’re losing a customer… make all the effort so that you don’t have to lose them! Peace!
