IFB Media (@IFBMedia) reportedThis is the problem LOI TV and Virgin Media can’t solve on their own. Both have done more for this league in a few years than RTÉ managed in decades. Let that sit for a second. A streaming service and a commercial broadcaster have outworked the national broadcaster on its own game. RTÉ isn’t short on money. It’s short on will. Every household in this country funds that broadcaster through the licence fee. League of Ireland clubs are part of that country too. Yet the domestic game still gets treated like an inconvenience, squeezed out whenever something bigger comes along… That’s not neutrality. That’s a broadcaster showing you exactly where its priorities sit. And it ain’t with covering our Domestic Football teams irrespective of whether it’s home, abroad or both. Other platforms shouldn’t be doing RTÉ’s job for it. They shouldn’t have to. A national broadcaster shows up for the national game. Consistently. Not when it suits the schedule. Until RTÉ treats League of Ireland like it matters, everyone else will keep doing the job it was funded to do. That’s not a compliment to the others. It’s an indictment of RTÉ. This is exactly why Irish football needs a genuine TV deal, not scraps of coverage from whoever happens to show up. The prize money isn’t there. The funding model is fragile. A real broadcast deal is how you finally finance this league properly. Until that exists, moments like this keep repeating.
-
mec337 (@mec337) reported@virginmedia ok, what’s the issue with bbc iPlayer sometimes it wants to play sometimes I have to retry many times. Sometimes if I log in I have to wait 2 mins for it to then work. It’s not consistent and very very annoying
-
Jan T. (@demented_tj) reported@virginmedia @icanlevitateoff your page said ' there's an issue, you can can schedule an appointment in 24 hrs' next morning, issue gone, no problem right?? Happens far too often, but thankfully they're installing fiber on my street.
-
Robb Pickard (@PourMeAGin) reported@skytv never met a system so unfit for purpose. The latency on Sky Glass causing freezing is awful. To be told no solution is BS. Cannot wait for contract to be over so can leave. Maybe @virginmedia will make a decent offer to rejoin.
-
Dan Stevens (@DanStev14730264) reported@virginmedia Hi I was asked to direct message in regards to the services all being down for the last 3 days and then being told services will be down until the 10th of July, completely unacceptable. I would like to know what you are going to do about it pls. Asap
-
Paul Williams (@bushmills7d) reported@virginmedia another day with out service. That was nearly all day yesterday and so far 4 hours today. That’s three times this week so far. But I bet you’ll still take your money for no service
-
keith addy (@ads913) reported@virginmedia I understand they're introductory, but the gap is £51/month for the identical package. That's not a normal "new customer discount" that's a loyalty penalty. What can you actually offer me?
