@jojowillsophia @GaryProctor5 @SkySportsPL @SkySports To assist the referee. But that was before VAR came along to overrule every decision the referee and linesman make. That aside, normally on tight calls, doesn't the linesman keep the flag down until after the shot then raises it to inform the referee there was an infringement.

I would like to hear the referee's & VAR official's explanation as that is as clear cut a pen as you can get.
