  • iadnan9
    Addy (@iadnan9) reported

@virginmedia @ipa1869 Virgin Media fined £28m over 'deliberately dropping calls' and putting people on hold 'for no reason' Customers trying to cancel or switch were routinely put through the wringer by Virgin's customer service agents, an investigation by the regulator has found.

  • Minutemarketio
    Minute Market (@Minutemarketio) reported

Virgin Media Gets Fined 🫰 Virgin Media was hit with a £28 million, or roughly $37 million, fine by UK regulator Ofcom for repeatedly making it harder for customers to cancel contracts between 2022 and 2024. That is not just a consumer-rights story. It is a warning for telecom and subscription businesses that “retention tricks” can become regulatory liabilities. In a market obsessed with recurring revenue, cancellation friction is now a legal risk.

  • fayfreddie10
    faye (@fayfreddie10) reported

@virginmedia You're not i get fobbed off all the time. I was talked around into taking out a new contract on the promise that VM would solve the issues or give us the right to leave without charges.. a year in and nothing good has come of it.. even the phone line is unusable.

  • UserrReb
    Reb (@UserrReb) reported

Ofcom has ordered #VirginMedia to check that every affected customer who complained has received the compensation or other remedies to which they may be entitled within the next six months. A disgusting company that no-one should touch.

  • cherry_ugh
    Cherry Von Boom (@cherry_ugh) reported

@virginmedia @O2 Day 14 of not having a working phone, of having 3 counts of fraud on my account, on having people STILL trying to hack your login page, of getting no help, and my gods, I can see why you’ve been fined 28 million. And the transphobic complaints team? Chefs kiss.

  • cuddy271
    Michael Cuddington (@cuddy271) reported

@Ofcom I am told there is more strife coming down the line for @virginmedia they have a 360 tv box which customers hate becauseof its many problems and many want out .
