Labour plan involves spending £20bn on rolling out a full fibre broadband network to all by 2020 - then providing free service to every home and business. But not clear where that leaves Virgin Media, TalkTalk etc

@stfujahn @odekul @nolkeD @M1dKn1gh7 There’s already universal service obligations in place and market based regulated pricing at postcode level for Openreach - ofcom has done a relatively good job at keeping things in check - and when they don’t talktalk and sky have taken them to court because they suffer the most

Of course you do. The solution is, as we all know, replacing BT, Virgin, Sky & TalkTalk with The Soviet Committee for Broadband.

@TalkTalk Hi Jo, had a read and I’m almost 100% sure we’ve tried all of these, we have had this problem for 4 months now. We have had a engineer in, new routers sent and done all of what’s in those articles. It seems that there’s no clear solution here.

@virginmedia I have had to cancel with my previous provider, as I've set up a 18 month contract with you. I spoke to one of your call agents today, he said the best you can do, is offer £20 good will payment. Even though he admitted that it was Virgin who 'forgot' to contact TalkTalk!

Finally managed to leave @TalkTalk. Our average download speed was supposedly 77Mb/s but the reality was it was pulling about 40. Pretty sure dial-up is faster. Trying to actually leave is an absolute chore, not helped by the lying about "it won't auto renew". Never again.
