Remote support for a friend’s computer that was having strange issues. Teamviewer failed to connect so I figured this was related. An hour’s debugging later and it turns out the ISP (TalkTalk) is blocking Teamviewer as it’s used by scammers.

@CateSevilla @virginmedia They then tried to fine me for not sending their 'hub' back and refused to refund the house move cost I'd paid a few months earlier. So so incompetent! SO stressful when all of us work from home too. I moved to TalkTalk & is cheaper and no problems so far, at least :)

@UB5simon I'm on TalkTalk. They're not perfect but my research tells me none of them are. I hardly ever get connectivity problems & they're cheap. I now find the best approach to customer services is to avoid them unless 100% necessary, which means only when I have a hardware problem.

@JoeWStanley @TalkTalk @Ofcom I was with them for a very short period. B/band so poor my smart TV wouldn't tune. Gave up and switched provider without penalty or having to pay contract payments. They couldn't provide the service they sold do didn't have a leg to stand on. Just change. Good luck!

@TalkTalk Hi Andy I’m afraid we’ve spent two days repeatedly doing the same flow chart of diagnostics and getting nowhere. Either there’s a fault on the line or our router has a fault, but the Openreach engineer I spoke to on 3/5 said there was an issue with the main junction box.
