Roland Millward (@RolandMillward) reported from Trowbridge, England@virginmedia As you are aware OFCOM believe this practice is illegal. The fact people can’t move onto a new development and you’re not putting down cables is not their fault. It’s an inappropriate way to treat customers fairly.
-
Charlie Murray (@Kranitoko) reported from Chippenham, EnglandStill waiting for Virgin Media to contact me about moving over to them... I know they said it can take up to 10 days but YOU'D THINK they'd do all they could for a new customer who's street has, apparently, been cabled into their network 🤔

Jon Wort 🇺🇦 (@Tofrek) reported from Chippenham, England@virginmedia @wiltscouncil Not withstanding the ethics if Virgin was to advise me of customers on my road they could add a breach of GDPR to their continuing customer service. I asked James to escalate to higher management as a phone call is not enough. #CustomerService #virginmedia #BadVirginMedia
-
Joe 🙏 🇺🇦 (@joeh90429) reported from Trowbridge, England7hrs over two days and I still can't cancel @virginmedia #jeez #neveragain

Robert LW (@RJLW) reported from Frome, EnglandAbsolutely useless help from @virginmedia customer services today. Had to explain issue 3 times then sent problem to technical team and that was the last I heard. Unequal and unfair treatment of Sky Sports customers on Virgin. Always thought they were the best-serious doubts now.

Yiddo1982 🐓 (@621_karl) reported from Warminster, England@virginmedia It’s a property I’m working on at the moment, the elderly owner of the property mentioned it to the engineers at the time and was told it’s normal to have the cable like that. Poor woman spent all this time believing that.

-
Adam Crawford (@AdzCrawford2003) reported from Bathford, England@virginmedia Can you please tell me why the call quality on virgin mobile is absolutely atrocious? Some serious improvements need to be done as it’s bad with every number and even on VoLTE.
-
Jon Wort 🇺🇦 (@Tofrek) reported from Chippenham, England@virginmedia @wiltscouncil The gift that keeps on giving. I had a call from James, who advised that because I was not a Virgin customer they could not compensate me and could do nothing with my complaint. However, if I found a neighbour and got them to complain I could get compensation through them!
-
Adam Crawford (@AdzCrawford2003) reported from Bathford, England@virginmedia Yes the sim is running off of O2, I got it about a week ago. Calls don’t drop. It’s just the call quality which is terrible on every call.

D (@idczn) reportedThe only contract I ever signed with Virgin Media was in 2018, and it continues to this day. I have never changed or upgraded it; I only occasionally tried to report home network connection issues. It turns out that in November 2024, a two-year contract was accepted, which I only found out about in 2025 when I wanted to cancel their services. I couldn't leave them XD However, checking who did this on my behalf and when (because it certainly wasn't me) was impossible, as I had no way to log into my Virgin account Now I cansee- the accepted contract has different number? There is no any signature of mine- and information that was sent to e-mail: back then controlled by hacker

-
Poppyfields18 (@Novemberpoppy82) reported@virginmedia why on earth is my internet so slow. Only been with you 2 months and it is terrible for the past 3 days. My son is trying to revise for his GCSEs for 2 exams tomorrow and this is not good. Nothing will load. Get this sorted asap

-
tag 🇬🇧 (@tag4UK) reported@Benleo @virginmedia They told you that you have to buy a 2 year contract in order for them to fix their own cable, and you believed them? 🤪
-
Ben Leo (@Benleo) reportedUpdate to this… they really are the worst company in Britain right now - and you won’t believe what @virginmedia have done. I called VM on April 30 asking them to come and fix a broken outside cable at my house. I was (wrongly) told that in order to fix the cable I had to agree a new two year contract which included a main 360 TV box and three streaming boxes. Nothing was ever arranged about fixing my problem, the broken cable. The Indian call centre guy just wanted a sale. After many calls and a missed appointments where I waited in pointlessly after no one ever turned up, an engineer came to fix the cable and install my new boxes. The TV never worked. More calls, two more engineer visits, and it still wouldn’t work. I then posted the original below on X. I then a call from the Virgin Media CEO @LutzSchueler’s assistant to say they MISSOLD me the new contract I never wanted because VM no longer offers 360 TV boxes which allow you to pause, record and rewind live TV. I said ok fine, just put me back on my old contract which had a 360 box - the contract I never would have left until you missold me a new one under the pretence I needed it to fix my broken cable. The CEO’s assistant said no, I can’t go back onto my old contract. And she said I can’t have a 360 box on my new contract. So I’m now stuck with a service I don’t want and was lied to about - with no option to return to my previous contract that I was perfectly happy with since April 2025. They’ve not only missold me a contract, spent hours and hours of my time trying to sort it and caused a hell of a lot of stress - but they’ve now also breached my old contract. She offered me £200 compensation and an apology and said I must stick with the new contract or disconnect. A completely shambolic, insulting and quite frankly disgusting way to treat a customer who has been with them for years. I’ve heard from many of you about similar situations and will now be taking the case to the ombudsman. A clear breach of the Consumer Rights Act and the The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. If anyone has similar experiences with @virginmedia please write them below or DM me. I’ll be fighting for British consumers to make sure they can never treat people like this again.
