  • jorgeml Jorge Martínez López (@jorgeml) reported from London, England

@JamesJWalsh @virginmedia The router has a couple of pages that are useful, one has the logs (check the error timestamp matches when your connection went down). There is also a more technical page that shows the uplink / downlink channels, have a look and check there is some voltage on them.

  • jorgeml Jorge Martínez López (@jorgeml) reported from London, England

@JamesJWalsh @virginmedia The people on first line support are there to filter out the most obvious problems (wrong password, equipment not plugged or faulty, etc). Your goal noe is to prove that it's not your fault (device configuration, weak WiFi, etc).

  • ImperialArmsPub Imperial Arms (@ImperialArmsPub) reported from Bromley, England

@JamesJWalsh @virginmedia Don't mention the word WiFi, your problem is the WAN connection. Plug you laptop via the LAN cable when testing / calling them.

  • AnnieThwaite Annie Thwaite (@AnnieThwaite) reported from Richmond, England

@virginmedia Hi, you recently accepted me as a customer and then due to engineering issues cancelled my contract before the service had begun. You ran a hard credit search (!) on me, and as you didn’t provide me with any service, I’d like you to remove it.

  • evac90 Eva Collingwood (@evac90) reported from Hackney, England

@virginmedia making it impossible to cancel my contract. Website just keeps sending me back to the same pages. Can I please just have an email address as I will not be renewing my contract.

@virginmedia my WiFi speed is 80mps next to the router, and 8mps in the room next door, with the door open! Why does the signal suck so much? :-(

  • AnnieThwaite Annie Thwaite (@AnnieThwaite) reported from Richmond, England

  • jorgeml Jorge Martínez López (@jorgeml) reported from London, England

@JamesJWalsh @virginmedia I used to be a customer before moving to Lewisham and left them because I was getting about 10% of the contracted speed and they were taking months to resolve it. They ended up admitting it was oversubscription.

Virgin Media Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Rebekah_Coconut Rebekah-Jade (@Rebekah_Coconut) reported

@virginmedia Hello yes it doesn’t say there’s an issue just keeps saying a wire isn’t plugged in properly

  • Rynnie38 Kathryn B-D (@Rynnie38) reported

@virginmedia your online help is a waste of time. Fed up of having intermittent WiFi and being unable to speak to someone to resolve.

  • ReKoill ReKoill (@ReKoill) reported

@virginmedia My connection drops every 20 seconds or so but ONLY on the pc connected via ethernet, the WiFi is stable. We phoned for help and they told us it's an area issue and to monitor it for 7 days before they'll do anything. How can a network issue make the ethernet drop but WiFi stable

  • charlotteh2912 c (@charlotteh2912) reported

@virginmedia Nope. No issues. It's not a current issue it's continuously rubbish just now even worse than normal

  • ReKoill ReKoill (@ReKoill) reported

@virginmedia They did not, just that there was an intermittent issue in the area which was affecting the ethernet connection, which is BS. We were told to monitor it for 7 days, we can't exactly be without a reliable connection for 7 days cos the phone operator didn't wanna help today.

  • morgandenney7 morgan denney (@morgandenney7) reported

@virginmedia Hi, I cannot get into my account and when I try to reset it, it takes me to a broken page and doesn’t redirect me etc there’s no way to email or message you directly, can you help please

  • EilidhNash Eilidh Nash (@EilidhNash) reported

@virginmedia Well sure, if you refuse to deliver broadband to rural areas which cannot support high speed broadband because no company will pay to upgrade our exchanges and therefore raise your lowest speed through exclusion, of course you're going to be the fastest BB provider #FasterCloser

  • littlewelshtink Hannah (@littlewelshtink) reported

@TomParker @virginmedia I had a load of trouble with them. Constantly losing WIFI. Even when I had it it was shocking. And trying to leave them was awful. Had a phone call last month from them when I left almost 2 years ago. #Shocking

  • Lacie_Adams1 Lacie_Adams (@Lacie_Adams1) reported

@virginmedia Not good. Failed to give me a complaint reference number and transferred to a bit. My Internet is apparently down and tried calling now and yet again couldn't speak to anyone and been sent a link to my phone. What if I didn't have phone data? How would you expect me to do this?

  • ReKoill ReKoill (@ReKoill) reported

@virginmedia Zero issues in my area for anything, I looked this up while on the phone to the helpline and told them that and they just ignored me saying "well there is an issue"
