@JamesJWalsh @virginmedia I used to be a customer before moving to Lewisham and left them because I was getting about 10% of the contracted speed and they were taking months to resolve it. They ended up admitting it was oversubscription.

@virginmedia my WiFi speed is 80mps next to the router, and 8mps in the room next door, with the door open! Why does the signal suck so much? :-(

@virginmedia Hi, you recently accepted me as a customer and then due to engineering issues cancelled my contract before the service had begun. You ran a hard credit search (!) on me, and as you didn’t provide me with any service, you need to remove it.

@JamesJWalsh @virginmedia Don't mention the word WiFi, your problem is the WAN connection. Plug you laptop via the LAN cable when testing / calling them.

@JamesJWalsh @virginmedia The people on first line support are there to filter out the most obvious problems (wrong password, equipment not plugged or faulty, etc). Your goal noe is to prove that it's not your fault (device configuration, weak WiFi, etc).

one thing that #virginmedia really know how to do is giving their “sincere apologies” for whatever went wrong instead of actually fixing the problem, we don’t pay you each month to sincerely apologise to us for things you should be on point with 😭

@JamesJWalsh @virginmedia The router has a couple of pages that are useful, one has the logs (check the error timestamp matches when your connection went down). There is also a more technical page that shows the uplink / downlink channels, have a look and check there is some voltage on them.

@virginmedia Having to phone up and tell you that I am going to cancel every year and every year you tell me that "here's the best deal we can give you" then I say "yeah yeah, put me through to the retention place who'll offer me the similar price" and magically a new deal appears...

@Aaron_Lincs @virginmedia Unfortunately due to them hanging up on me, then when I called back their offices had shut. I'm hoping jess may be able to help her with it today. Honestly the whole experience was hard work and extremely unhelpful. Hoping to make a complaint against @virginmedia

@virginmedia Hi. It’s just really slow and has considerably gotten worse of the last few weeks. I have tried everything in my power to resolve the issue and would appreciate and engineer being sent out to check the router etc. FYI no error message is on the box but speed is very slow

@virginmedia Down again today, many people have taken to social media to express their disappointment as they are unable to work from home effectively as a consequence. Can you please escalate this to a manager and ask them to call me?
-
Charley
(@Charley_ZanMato) reported
@virginmedia It's not the hub, it's the whole area. When will these issues be sorted? The whole area has had problems for weeks now. & the compensation scheme is useless. The internet could be off for 46hrs, back on for 2, then off again for 46hrs and Virgin wouldn't have to pay compensation!
-
Connor Trahearn
(@ItzConnT) reported
@virginmedia sort it out, was on a call to your customer service and was informed that I’m getting a 10th of what I’m paying for, was told I’d get an engineer round by February the latest, it’s now March
-
Robert Frost
(@Rob_J_Frost) reported
@virginmedia It's not a surprise. It's just a tedious going through the motions to avoid paying 30 quid over the odds for what's already a very expensive service. If you offered the extended contract and continuation of discount in your letter that would at least be honest.
