Absolute nightmare with @virginmedia arranging new package. Since agreeing package deal yesterday I've received FOUR different emails telling me I'm gonna be paying four different amounts, all higher than what was agreed. Absolutely terrible customer service and real headache

  • Champion3Claire
Claire Champion (@Champion3Claire) reported from Bromley, England

@virginmedia An explanation of the problem and what is being done would be a good start for customer service. Right now that’s sadly lacking. I hope there will be a £ reduction in the bill for the lack of service??

  • gorgeousuk
anne hill (@gorgeousuk) reported from Bromley, England

@virginmedia My husband has called because he is the account holder and has a Virgin phone. Virgin apparently will call tonight/tomorrow morning. However, my feeling now is that your service will work for a time and then will go bad, there is a pattern.

  • BobCratchitt
Andee Byford (@BobCratchitt) reported from Poplar, England

@virginmedia But your hub has died and as such I cannot access my broadband, use my landline as you moved it from copper to Ethernet and the TV services are impacted as I cannot record, watch the BBC or any streaming service. In short an outage.

@virginmedia when are you going to get your act together and get your red button working again? Over a week now and no joy still a daft message experiencing an issue with set top box. Working on a fix. How long is a fix?

  • DT_NerdyGeek
    Dave NerdyGeek (@DT_NerdyGeek) reported

It'd be good if @virginmedia treated a customer, who's been with them for over 15 years, like a customer who has been with them for over 15 years. I have had the same hub since 2016! I should not have to sign up to a £120 a month plan just to get an upgrade on 10 year old tech.

@andy_nicks60 @virginmedia Thinking of leaving them myself due to this same issue - don’t want just a Streaming box - and their info during a fault is absolutely ridiculous and too many lies

@MickeyDN7 @virginmedia @SkySports Sky customer having the same issue, so I'd say the problem is on Sky's side not Virgins

  • WolfofX
    Wolf of X (@WolfofX) reported

In 2003, Stan Beaton lost his wife Ruby to cancer. But there was one small piece of her he could still hold onto. Her voice. Ruby had recorded the outgoing voicemail greeting on their home phone around 2001. After she died, Stan deliberately kept it. In the difficult years that followed, whenever he was feeling particularly low, he could pick up the phone and hear her voice again. He even avoided changing phone providers because he was afraid the recording might disappear. Then, in December 2014, it did. Technical work involving Virgin Media's voicemail system caused Ruby's recording to vanish. Stan was devastated. After protecting it for more than a decade, he believed the sound of his wife's voice was gone for good. When Virgin Media learned what the recording meant to him, a team of engineers began searching through their systems. They initially thought the chances of recovering it were extremely small. They searched for three days. Then they found it. In January 2015, BBC Radio Leeds was there as Stan heard the recovered recording for the first time. The moment Ruby's voice came through, he recognized her immediately. "That's her." Stan broke down in tears. He later described hearing her again as a "wonderful, wonderful sound." Virgin Media also gave him a permanent copy of the recording, so he would never have to rely on the voicemail system to keep it safe again. Ruby had recorded nothing extraordinary. It was simply an everyday greeting for their home telephone. Fourteen years later, that ordinary little recording had become something Stan thought he would never hear again.
