Virgin Media Issues Reports

Ali Dalton (@alidalton) reportedIn 2017 I was the first designer at a UK fintech startup now valued at $100m+, with 500+ employees across 60 countries. It was just me, two founders, and two others in a room in London. The work wasn't a redesign. It was branding and the early flows for a payments platform. Nobody in that room called it design strategy. It was five people deciding how the product should work before there was a product. Then I spent almost a decade in the corporate world. Citibank, Mercedes, NatWest, Virgin Media. Products used by 50M+ people. £11M NPV on one project. That world taught me systems thinking, rigour, how to make a decision that survives fifteen stakeholders and a compliance review. It also taught me that six months to ship a signup flow is not a law of physics. It's a byproduct of the org chart. Most funded founders assume those two things come as a package. That if you want big company craft you have to accept big company timelines. You don't. The thinking travels. The process doesn't have to. I didn't leave because the work was bad. It was the best training I could have asked for. I left because I wanted the room of five again. Take everything those companies taught me and run it my way. No six week kickoff. No deck to justify a deck. A way founders can actually work with. So I started my studio last year. 5+ projects since across Fintech, publishing, agri-tech, and two founders launching their brands from zero. It's graft. But it's my graft now. If you're funded, building, and the product works but the numbers don't - that's the exact problem I spend my days on.
-
Scarlett Shaw (@ScarlettShaw) reportedThe one touch switch for broadband might sound like a good idea but here’s something they don’t mention. When you leave @virginmedia , the email address you’ve had for 30 years is deleted. So you have to spend hours and hours changing login details on everything. It’s so stupid.
-
Richard Bignell (@NothingLane) reported@trapdoor456 @virginmedia Nope, but much the same story. Dumped useless Virgin years ago. Now with @zeninternet. Once you start a contract, the price NEVER increases. They're a UK company, so absolutely no overseas call centres and the tech service has been first class.
-
Andrea ™ 🏳️🌈 (@I_am_Leighton_) reportedApparently to change to a new contract within @virginmedia they have to leave me with no tv etc for 4 days even though I’m already with them. I’ve never heard anything more ridiculous. Think I’ll be just be cancelling. Keep your renewal offer lol joke of a company
-
Boxing and Realtalk (@SexyBoxing1) reported@ReturnofColin2 @virginmedia customer service
-
🌈april🐾 (@77razr) reportedIm back online. Spent hours troubleshooting our new router which was only doing Ethernet and not wireless. I lug my pc downstairs to check the settings. OUR PRINTED PASSWORD IS MISSING TWO ******* CHARACTERS **** VIRGIN MEDIA **** YOU
-
Eternal Elneny (@eternalelneny) reported@virginmedia With all due respect, the engineers have been there all day, I saw two of them having a 40 minute lunch break at 10am at Greggs. Can you push these engineers to get this completed today? Compensation isn’t a valid response to not being able to work - ridiculous service
-
Pari Passu Newsletter (@PariPassu_Rx) reportedTelefónica and Liberty Global are looking at ways to bring down the £22bn debt pile at Virgin Media O2, their UK joint venture, after a sharp sell-off in the company's bonds. A roughly $925mn unsecured note fell to as low as 57 cents on the dollar this week, down from about 78 at the start of July, and even the senior secured paper slipped. The measures under discussion include cutting the expected £200mn dividend, pulling back capex, and reducing headcount.
-
Moots (@JJMootts) reportedI swear @virginmedia have to be the most frustrating company to deal with ever!! Absolutely useless customer service.

pxk (@paynexkillerYT) reportedInternet is down AGAIN. @virginmedia
