Now I read people saying those services also stop after a couple of days. Which is correct? I have broadband so no reason those should stop? Thanks

They suggested that I cast Sky Go to my TV but, whether by casting or HDMI, I get a message that “playback is not allowed on external displays” when I try to play anything. Help!

I did some tests and now see the issue is the wi-fi as the speed on my laptop connected to the ethernet is nearly 500Mbps!
