    @unsliced @virginmedia One strand of fibre cable can transfer a lot of data. When they talk about a cable it’s going to have multiple strands so it can carry even more. It sucks that it’s down, but repairing fibre is not trivial.

    @unsliced @virginmedia Sure, but no internet provider has a completely dual redundant system, if they did we’d never see any outages. You can mitigate certain issues with redundancy, but “cut the cord” in the wrong place and you’ll have an issue.

    Awful service by virgin media in teddington area. I have no access to wifi for more than 24hrs and they keep postponing the estimated fix time.

    @virginmedia Put something online or phone message when we call also despite being out since yesterday morning only been able to register issue this morning. Not great service really so likely to cancel my contract in new year despite over 15 years as a customer just too much poor service

    @unsliced @virginmedia This does utterly suck though, I’m a business customer and rely on the internet during working hours, I have no internet, no link to the office etc. Funnily enough I just lent my redundancy 4G router to my daughter and then this happens!

    🚨Wimbledon Virgin Media Outage🚨 Just had an update from one of our Virgin Media members, a footings digging machine next to the building that houses the local servers, hit the main fibre cable wrapping it around the drill. They estimate Monday before it’s fixed #virginmediadown

    @virginmedia at restraint in SW19 normal full on a Friday night halve empty why no virgin broadband so no card payments! Lots of businesses loosing a lot on money due to your outage and time taken to repair! @SkyNewsBreak @BBCBreaking @Ofcom

    Hi @virginmedia - When a customer doesn't renew a contract with you and that customer offers to return your kit and you decline and instruct the customer to dispose of it, is it acceptable to send that customer numerous "no reply" emails and text demanding the return of the kit ?

    @virginmedia phone call with VM representative hung up on me 1 per cent packet loss i think is fine - 1% packet loss is unacceptable. Good quality internet circuits should have 0.1% packet loss or less. If you are getting 1% packet loss you will have problems with any realtime applications

    Our @virginmedia experience is like Hotel California. You can check in any time you like but you can never leave. First phoned to cancel in January, then again in March & they now want £175 for services not rendered & a £40 leaving charge 😮😮. /1 #ripoffBritain
