Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Brewood and nearby locations:

  • DanBennett Dan Bennett 🇪🇺 (@DanBennett) reported from Oakengates, England

@Justcallmelewis @virginmedia Don't get me started on its shit WiFi signal.

  • DickyDodd Dicky Dodd (@DickyDodd) reported from Wolverhampton, England

@virginmedia You seem to find it very easy to let go a loyal customer of 23 years. You won't be that sad.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong No, bash both :) As I said, it's a poor policy by comparison but I'd rather advise the user on how to choose a secure 10 character password than waste time preaching security to a social media staffer :)

  • SammyLouisee_ sammy♥ (@SammyLouisee_) reported from Wolverhampton, England

So after having problems with @virginmedia mobile decided to join @ThreeUK let’s hope this is a better network 🙌🏻

  • Wolvesblogger Nathan Lloyd (@Wolvesblogger) reported from Wolverhampton, England

@virginmedia Cheers for the top. Yes, tv & broadband services issues with an estimated fix time of 23:55. I may have to crack open the Scrabble & the candles. Now I know how people felt in the black outs during the war!

  • simonpunch Simon Pugh (@simonpunch) reported from Wolverhampton, England

@virginmedia just had the call ended by your overseas call centre not the greatest service in the world!!

  • DanBennett Dan Bennett 🇪🇺 (@DanBennett) reported from Oakengates, England

Cannot wait to upgrade our internet away from @virginmedia ... Been a customer at 3 different places now and each time it's been awful and moved away. Roll on June.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@kinoshitajona @ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Agreed, neither are secure and should never be used... however it's certainly possible to make an unbreakable MD5 password.

  • DickyDodd Dicky Dodd (@DickyDodd) reported from Wolverhampton, England

Now holding for 20 minutes @virginmedia Customer retention department obviously trying a different tactic to keep me as a customer I've been with this company since 1997 and this how I have to be treated.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong I didn't say it was perfectly fine... but it's certainly possible to pick a secure 10 character PW within those constraints. I was a VM customer for 2 decades... I can't recall ever losing sleep over this.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong The irony here is 3 random words can be broken in as little as 40 seconds, maximum 50 minutes. A 10 character random password, by comparison, would take 7 weeks with the same hardware.

  • terrysankey Terry Sankey (@terrysankey) reported from Wolverhampton, England

@SimonADouglas @virginmedia We have the occasional internet problem but since the last announced 'update' the hub seems to be resetting itself. Doesn't matter to the 'wired' machines but obviously disconnects the WiFi! Irritating as the restart times are long and inputting the names/password is a pain 🙄

  • andrewanthony83 Andrew Anthony (@andrewanthony83) reported from Codsall, England

@SuperfastStaffs please let @virginmedia lay their cables in #Bilbrook and #Codsall we need proper #fibre broadband. We are being left behind with the copper solution that @WeAreOpenreach leave us with and it’s getting worse! @south_staffs @GavinWilliamson @StaffordshireCC

  • xpjxuk Paul Jenkins (@xpjxuk) reported from Walsall Wood, England

@virginmedia been hounded with call for 2 weeks finally answer to be offered disgusting customer service and when I ask about the offer on the Martin Lewis website told can’t have it please call me or I will be leaving and going to sky

  • prasy3k Prasant Bakarania (@prasy3k) reported from Madeley, England

@virginmedia has no idea on customer service. 30 years with them and they treat us like dirt. #BadService @bbcmtd @Ombudsman-Services.org #Overcharge Brushed us aside like dirt!

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@leicscyberaware @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @ScottMcGready @PWTooStrong You're right, it's not good enough... but it's not insecure either. I debunked 3 random words years ago. Now *that* is poor advice.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Because "secure" requires a context which neither the OP nor yourself have given. 99% of my passwords are 12 chars, A-Z, a-z, 0-9. They're not being broken in my lifetime... so to claim 10 is sufficient to justify leaving is daft.

  • DickyDodd Dicky Dodd (@DickyDodd) reported from Trysull, England

@virginmedia media retentions and I got cut off and no call back. Ambismal customer service.

  • Paul_Reviews Paul Moore (@Paul_Reviews) reported from Burntwood, England

@ScottMcGready @kinoshitajona @SCwithGin @virginmedia @NCSC @troyhunt @PWTooStrong Scott, we use the term "unbreakable" in the trade to imply the credentials cannot be broken in a timeframe which realistically presents a risk to the user... it's not an OED term. Sure, if we're talking to an end-user, you either use a different term or explain the meaning

  • DickyDodd Dicky Dodd (@DickyDodd) reported from Wolverhampton, England

So I've been on hold to @virginmedia Customer retentions for 17 minutes... Unreal.
